7-bet Lietkabelis Panevezys grabbed its second consecutive home win in Group A by topping U-BT Cluj-Napoca 89-84 at Cido Arena on Wednesday. Jamel Morris and Zeljko Sakic made the difference for the winners down the stretch.

Morris led the way with 24 points as Lietkabelis improved to 2-2 in the standings. Sakic added 16 points, Kristian Kullamae 14, Vytenis Lipkevicius 11 and Paulius Murauskas 10 for Lietkabelis. Leo Meindl scored 22 points for Cluj, which dropped to 1-3. Andrija Stipanovic added 20 points, Jordan Taylor 14 and Patrick Richard 12.

Stipanovic stepped up early for Cluj, but Lipkevicius made back-to-back three for a 19-18 Lietkabelis lead after 10 minutes. Stipanovic kept pacing the visitors and got help from Taylor for a 21-29 Cluj lead. Sakic and Morris led the hosts to a 39-36 lead at halftime.
Morris scored 13 third-quarter points and joined forces with Kullamae to boost Lietkabelis's lead to 64-59 after 30 minutes. Cluj used a 0-7 run that Nandor Kuti capped with a three-pointer to get a 68-69 lead with 7 minutes left. Sakic and Morris each struck from downtown in a 10-0 run that put Lietkabelis ahead for good, 78-69. Taylor, Meindl and Stipanovic got Cluj within 85-82, but Kullamae sealed the outcome from the foul line.
