Mario Nakic was one of the big storylines in MoraBanc Andorra’s 99-65 blowout victory over Slask Wroclaw as the 21-year-old had a career night.
Nakic ignited Andorra attack on career night
Nakic started the second quarter with a three-pointer from the right wing. He followed that with 2 free throws and then a fastbreak layup after a steal for 7 points within 71 seconds. The forward scored another fastbreak layup after a long pass from Moussa Diagne before knocking down a long corner jumper for 11 points in just 4:19 minutes to even his career-high.
The former Real Madrid talent, who helped the club win the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament title in 2019, scored another fastbreak layup with 80 seconds left in the game to finish with 13 points in just 18:10 minutes on the floor. That topped the 11 points he scored against Hamburg Towers in Round 3. Nakic added 1 rebound and 1 steal in his big night.
After being held scoreless in Rounds 7 and 8, Nakic has tallied at least 5 points in each of the last five games and is averaging 5.8 points in his first EuroCup season.
