NINERS Chemnitz bolstered its backcourt with the signing of dynamic guard Nike Sibande, the club announced on Friday night.
Sibande (1.93 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Darussafaka Istanbul, where he finished last season after appearing in 25 games earlier in the campaign for Basquet Girona in the Spanish League.
A versatile and athletic guard, Sibande brings experience from top European leagues and a standout NCAA career. He averaged 7.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists in seven Turkish League games last season after posting 6.3 points and 2.8 rebounds for Girona.
After he played college basketball at Miami of Ohio and the University of Pittsburgh, Sibande began his professional career in Finland in 2023 with Kataja Basket, moved to Greece with Marrousi Athens later that season and finished the campaign with Yukatel Merkezefendi in Turkiye, where he averaged 14.7 points in 12 games, including 28 in the season-finale against EuroCup side Bahcesehir College Istanbul.
