Hapoel center Kyle Alexander has been one of the most productive player in the BKT EuroCup since Round 12.

The last four rounds of the BKT EuroCup Regular Season are upon us, and one of the hottest players entering this key stretch of the season is Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv center [Kyle Alexander](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/kyle-alexander/011973/). 

In his last four appearances, Alexander is averaging 18.8 points, shooting 31-for-42 from the floor, and posting 9.7 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals.

During Rounds 12, 13 and 14, just two other players have made more field goals than Alexander, who was 23-for-33 shooting during that span. 

Alexander's 69.7% accuracy from the floor is the highest over the last three rounds for all players who made more than 15 field goals, and also better than anybody who had more than 20 attempts.

However, if we also add Hapoel's made-up Round 2 game against the Wolves Vilnius in this calculation, an 89-80 win in which Alexander scored 22 points on 8-for-9 shooting, his scoring efficiency is unmatched for such volume and production.

Interestingly, over the first 10 games of the season, Alexander scored in double digits five times, but never more than 17 points. He had three games in which he pulled down double-digit rebounds, resulting in one double-double, a 10-point, 10-rebound performance in a Round 4 road win at Veolia Towers Hamburg.

In his last four appearances, Kyle Alexander is averaging 18.8 points, shooting 31-for-42 from the floor, and posting 9.7 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals.

In Round 12, however, Alexander topped that with 18 points on 8-for-12 two-point shooting, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 steals in Hapoel's 100-81 win over Umana Reyer Venice. He followed it up with 18 points on 8-for-11 two-point shooting and 5 rebounds in a 118-101 home win over Hamburg, closing 2023 in style.

Alexander continued the trend in 2024, too, with the aforementioned game against the Wolves, where he collected 22 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks, helping Hapoel to a seven-game winning streak. 

Last week, that streak came to end with a 96-100 home loss against London Lions, but Alexander was once again productive with 17 points on 7-for-10 two-point shooting and 8 rebounds. Over those four games, he is averaging a PIR of 27.5. 

For a team fighting to finish top two in Group A while hit by player absences, Alexander's increase in production was just what Hapoel needed. The big man will be poised to keep it up on Wednesday when Hapoel squares off against the Group A leader Paris Basketball.

Baldwin's double-double helped tired Trento get monkey off its back

Dolomiti Energia Trento got just the performance it needed from [Kamar Baldwin](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/kamar-baldwin/012597/), who came up with a double-double to help the tired Italian club get a monkey off its back.

Baldwin capitalized on his great energy to carry Trento with 26 points and 11 assists in an [85-79 victory ](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/game-center/2023-24/dolomiti-energia-trento-slask-wroclaw/U2023/148/#boxscore)over Slask Wroclaw. It was basically a must-win game over the last-place team in Group B considering that Trento is fighting to stay in the race for the post-season.

"It was very important. We've been struggling the last couple of games. It felt good to get out there and just play Trento basketball," Baldwin said after. "We just played together. It wasn't pretty but we stuck together and played as a team, and were able to finish it out with a win."

The EuroCup rookie neared his career high in points – just 2 points off  his previous best mark of 28 – but he surpassed his previous assists mark by 3 and his index rating of 34 blew away the 21 PIR he registered in Round 10 against ratiopharm Ulm in early December. 

"As long as we win, I'm feeling good. That's all that matters," Baldwin said about first BKT EuroCup big double-double.

Slask had knocked off fourth-place Ulm last week while Trento lost in Round 14, so the Italian team entered this game in a three-way tie with Buducnost VOLI Podgorica and Aris Midea Thessaloniki, who play each other on Wednesday, for final two playoff spots from Group B.

Trento head coach Paolo Galbiati said his team is dragging at the moment, more than 30 games into the season. And the key to the game against Slask was relaxing a bit.

"I joked with my players to take the monkey we had on our backs, throw it away," he said. "We had a great third quarter. We won the third quarter by 11 points and we were up by 13 (in the fourth quarter). We relaxed too much. We are not in a great moment. It's a tough moment for us. We are pretty tired. We overused some players but we had some great moments and I am happy for them. I hope the monkey stays far away from us now."

If Baldwin can continue to play like he did against Slask, Trento should avoid having a monkey on its back.

Dolomiti Energia Trento v Slask Wroclaw (2024-01-16T19:00:00.000Z)

Dolomiti Energia Trento avoided a slip-up in its fight for the playoffs as it fended off Slask Wroclaw 85-79 at home. Trento took control of the game with an 11-2 run in the fourth quarter against the last-place team in Group B to win its third game in the last four for a 7-8 record. Kamar Baldwin paced Trento with a double-double of 26 points and 11 assists and Andrejs Grazulis added 15 points. Trento entered the game in a three-way tie at 6-8 with Aris Midea Thessaloniki and Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, who play on Wednesday. The Italian club still faces both of those teams down the stretch. Slask was unable to make it back-to-back victories in falling to 2-13. Dusan Miletic poured in 17 points in the losing effort. 

Baldwin scored 5 quick points and the home side was up 8-5. Trento grabbed 5 offensive rebounds in the first 4 minutes and 5 more points from Baldwin made it 15-10. Slask forced a couple of turnovers and an Andrii Voinalovych triple put the guests back up 15-16. The score was 20-20 after 10 minutes. Trento scored 7 straight points spanning the first two quarters and built a 24-20 advantage. Slask held Trento scoreless for more than 3 minutes to even the game 24-24. Trento temporarily regained a four-point lead at 28-24 but it remained close, with Trento answering Slask's scores. The guests tallied the final 5 points of the first half and led 38-43 at intermission. 

Grazulis scored 7 points early in the second half to vault Trento back into the lead and Davide Alviti's triple had the hosts up 55-51. Back-to-back scores by Baldwin and Toto Forray's triple left Trento up 65-59 after 30 minutes. Myles Stephens and Mattia Udom both hit triples and Baldwin converted a three-point play in an 11-2 surge to extend the cushion to double digits 76-63 early in the fourth. Slask was not done, though, scoring the next 10 points - which could have been more had Kendale McCullum not missed 4 free throws. Baldwin ended a Trento drought of more than 4 minutes only to see Hassani Gravett drain a triple for Slask to make it 78-76. Paul Biligha scored and blocked a shot, and then Baldwin gave Trento some breathing room with a three-pointer for a 83-76 margin with 88 seconds left. Slask could not come back from that.

It went down to the wire, but the hosts held onto their position in playoffs positions of the Group B standings with just three games left.

Trento outlasts Slask for crucial 85-79 win

Joventut Badalona center Tyler Cook is the latest blogger on the BKT EuroCup website. Born in St Louis, USA, Cook grew up playing with NBA star Jayson Tatum at Chaminade College Preparatory School, went on to play for the University of Iowa, and spent four seasons between the NBA and the G League before he decided to cross the ocean.

Cook had a brief stint with South East Melbourne Phoenix of Australia before joining Joventut. Tyler has his own video blog, which he updates often, telling fans about his life on and off the court. Thus, he was the perfect choice to tell us what's happening at Joventut from time to time. Expect Tyler to tell us about his team's EuroCup run all the way until the end of the season.

Hello, EuroCup fans. I'm Tyler Cook of Joventut Badalona. This is my first season in Europe. My career has been really good until now. I have had the opportunity to play in a lot of different places. I started my career as a two-way player in the NBA. I spent three years in the NBA, one full year in the G League. And then, to start this year, I played in Australia for a month, just on a short-term contract. And then I came here about a month later. So I have been around, I have been to a lot of different places, played for a lot of different teams. It's been cool being able to see not only the country where I'm from, but kind of to see the world, too. I have had a really, eventful and enjoyable career so far.

I also played with Jayson Tatum for probably about five years, from 8th grade through 12th grade in high school. We graduated when we were 18-19 years old, so I have known him forever, since I was 14 years old. He is a good friend of mine. So we have missed each other since I have been here in terms of watching games. But we always kind of keep tabs on each other and see how we are doing.

When I was young, I broke a couple of fingers on my right hand playing football and basketball and stuff. So I had a couple of injuries and I decided to learn how to do everything with my left hand, just because my right hand was in a cast for a good amount of time. By the time I got healthy, I had gotten comfortable with my left hand. And ever since I was probably about maybe 12 years old, I have kind of been able to do everything with both hands. In terms of basketball, I was able to, I guess, catch people off guard. People didn't understand or expect me to go to my left hand even though I'm right-handed, so it just kind of worked out. And I have stuck with it ever since. I'm almost more comfortable with my left now than I am with my right. I mean, I still shoot the ball on my right hand, but like if I'm driving, I'm finishing, I typically go to my left hand. I throw with my left hand. I can write with both hands, so it just depends on what I'm doing.

This is my first EuroCup season and it has been different. It's been an adjustment. It's obviously a different style and brand of basketball than I have played in my career so far, so I'm still kind of getting used to it and adjusting, but it's a challenge. It's a competitive league. Every game counts. Every game means a lot, so I'm enjoying the competitive nature of it. Just learning and figuring things out along the way has been a good process for me. I'm figuring things out slowly, and I think hopefully we can continue to get some good wins under our belt and put ourselves in a good position to close out the year. 

We just signed Shannon Evans and I am excited to get him into the team. I think he will help us a lot, adding some extra backcourt help. He is a guy who can get his own baskets and create on offense, a really competitive guy. So I think adding him to the fold will be really good for us. We will try to get him up to speed as quickly as possible because obviously, he's a guy we want on the floor for us.

2023-24 EuroCup highlights: Tyler Cook, Joventut

I have to say I have enjoyed just kind of being able to see the places that I've seen so far. Even before I came here, I had been to a few different European cities in the past years just visiting and vacationing, but just being able to see more of Europe, see more of the world since I have been here, it's been awesome. I never really thought that I'd be here growing up, so seeing all these different places, all these different cities and being a part of the different cultures has been a blessing for me and it's kind of just been able to open my eyes and realize that there's a lot more out there than what I'm used to. So it's been an awesome experience.

It really just came from just me being bored, honestly, a couple of years ago. As a professional basketball player, we tend to have a lot of extra time. Whether we are in season or off-season, our work days are pretty short in comparison to people who don't work in sports. So even if I train for 3-4 hours a day, I still have a lot of time left. And especially when I'm away from home, I just had to figure something out that would occupy some time.

For me, that was one of the things that just kind of came easily and naturally for me, sharing my thoughts and my experiences with those who want to watch. It is something that kind of keeps my mind at ease through the ups and downs and through different experiences and new challenges. It's something that keeps me grounded and focused.  I haven't uploaded one in a while, so I have to kind of do some catching up, but it's something I really enjoy doing.

We are arriving to the most exciting games of the season, which is very important, not only for this club, but for everybody in Europe. Everybody wants to win, but I think for us, it's just about being focused, keeping our competitive spirit and being on the same page in terms of not only what we are doing on the court, but what are our collective goals are, staying in the moment, not looking too far ahead. And then obviously just putting everything we have out there on the floor and giving ourselves the best chance to be successful. It sounds just kind of monotonous and it sounds cliche, but for us, I think it's just keeping everything simple, playing our hardest and putting ourselves in a good position, which we have so far. So I'm super excited for that. I think we have a really good chance.

BKT EuroCup Power Rankings Vol. 4 - Paris knocking on the door

It was obvious from the previous edition of the Power Rankings, and with just four rounds left for the end of the regular season there's no need to deny it anymore. Teams like Paris Basket and London Lions are aiming for the top, while traditional names are struggling to keep up and even the defending champions are having trouble lately.

Here's how the situation is right now with six teams already qualified for the next phase.

EuroCup fantasy tips, Round 15: A lot at stake!

There are only four rounds left in the 2023-24 BKT EuroCup Regular Season and six teams already punched their playoff tickets, while three more can qualify this week: Joventut Badalona and Besiktas Emlakjet Istanbul in Group A, as well as ratiopharm Ulm in Group B. This all has an impact in the [EuroCup Fantasy Challenge](https://eurocupfantasy.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/home). 

Some players have stepped up lately and are certainly worth selecting in Round 15. Here are my five recommendations for this upcoming round.

[Kyle Alexander, Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv (13.2 credits)](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/kyle-alexander/011973/)

Alexander has been on fire in 2024. He led Hapoel to an 89-80 win over Wolves Vilnius with 22 points, 13 rebounds and PIR of 37, before going on to record 17 points, 8 rebounds and a PIR of 21 in a losing effort against the London Lions. It was Alexander's lowest PIR in the last four games – 21 – which should bode well for EuroCup Fantasy Challenge managers.

[Ante Tomic, Joventut Badalona (13.7 credits)](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/ante-tomic/002507/)

It is do-or-die time for Joventut and its most experienced players are stepping up. Tomic excelled in Round 14 against Veolia Hamburg Towers, leading Joventut with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and a PIR of 31. At 36, Tomic knows when it's time to deliver. Expect him to bring out his best basketball in Round 15 against London.

EuroCup Fantasy tips: Round 15

[Yigitcan Saybir, Turk Telekom Ankara (7.2 credits)](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/yigitcan-saybir/006693/)

A very good option at a very reasonable price. Saybir is coming off a stunning performance in Round 14, which saw him collect 21 points, 9 rebounds and a PIR of 25. Those numbers were considerably above his season averages of 6.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and a PIR of 7.1. It should be a turning point for him, so he is definitely an option worth considering in Round 15.

[Bryce Jones, U-BT Cluj-Napoca (10.9 credits)](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/bryce-jones/012621/)

Cluj made it to the playoffs and its next goal is to secure a top-two finish in Group B. Jones has been doing better lately, averaging 15.0 points, 6.0 assists and a PIR of 17.5 in the last couple of games. Every victory will be crucial from here on out, and Jones is ready to keep playing a big role.

[Jordan Parks, Umana Reyer Venice (8.3 credits)](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/jordan-parks/011909/)

Another player on the rise, this time at a very reasonable price. In the last two games, Parks boosted his numbers up to 14.5 points on 10-of-15 two-point shooting, 7.0 rebounds and a PIR of 17.5. Reyer needs Parks to stay aggressive and keep delivering in a vital road game against Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana.

Fantasy tips, Round 15: A lot at stake!

Tuesday's lone game will see Dolomiti Energia Trento (6-8) attempt to get its playoff challenge back on track with a visit from last-placed Slask Wroclaw (2-12).
