### Erasing bad memories

Reyer's 2022-23 EuroCup campaign came to an end in Tel Aviv with a 90-80 loss to Hapoel in the eighthfinals and the returning Reyer players will be eager to get a second shot of winning in the Israeli metropolis. That game is the only meeting to date between these teams and serves as an opportunity for some sporting revenge and to measure themselves against a 2023 quarterfinalist. Visiting Tel Aviv is also always special for Coach Neven Spahija, who served as the head coach of Hapoel's crosstown rival Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv on two separate occasions.

### Protecting the home floor

Reyer’s last game of November could be a pivotal point in the season. The game against Hamburg not only wraps up the first half of the regular season, but also marks the first game of a two-game homestand – one of only two such back-to-back home stretches for Reyer all season. A win here could provide a key mid-season boost to help Reyer start the second half of the regular season in style. Reyer is 5-0 in the EuroCup in home games against German teams with wins against three different clubs.

### Reyer seeks to change a trend

Prometey swept the two regular-season meetings between these teams last season and the second of those games cost Reyer dearly. It was the regular-season finale, which the Ukrainian club took 93-76, with Reyer still on the hunt for home-court advantage for the eighthfinals. This game will be Reyer’s last home game of the regular season and could be a critical contest for both sides. For Reyer fans, a big win here over Prometey could be double sweet as it has the potential at this point in the season to play a significant role in the playoff race.

A familiar face is back in the BKT EuroCup with Dreamland Gran Canaria announcing the arrival of veteran swingman [Sylven Landesberg](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/sylven-landesberg/004160/) on a one-year contract.

Landesberg (1.98 meters, 33 years old) became a EuroLeague champion in 2014 during the early stages of his career with Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he eventually made 95 appearances in the top continental competition. The American averaged 6.0 points and 1.6 rebounds during those games, with a career best 9.7 points per game in the 2015-16 season.

After leaving Maccabi in 2017, Landesberg averaged 17.5 points and 16.9 PIR for Turk Telekom Ankara in the 2018-19 edition of the EuroCup, before spending the last four years in China with Zhejiang Golden Bulls, Beijing Royal Fighters and Shandong Hi-Speed Kirin.

Buducnost returns to Ratiopharm Arena, where it ended its 2022-23 EuroCup campaign. Buducnost advanced from the regular season but did not have the home-court advantage in its do-or-die eighthfinals showdown against Ulm, which prevailed 92-83 after rallying from a 17-point deficit. Even though both teams have brand-new rosters, Buducnost should have extra motivation in this game, especially its returning players.

### Back to familiar place

Buducnost head coach Petar Mijovic returns to Wroclaw where he coached Slask at the start of 2021-22 season before he was dismissed even before the EuroCup season opener. Now, he goes back leading a highly-ambitious Buducnost, which swept the series against Slask last season, including a 40-point win in Wroclaw. The hosts would like a little revenge for that game, but Coach Mijovic would certainly love to leave Wroclaw with a win.

### Reigning champs come to town

These two foes have faced each other eight times in the EuroCup entering this season, all since 2010, and Gran Canaria has won all eight games. Last season, Buducnost welcomed Gran Canaria in the penultimate round of the regular season and the visitors ran through the Montenegrin capital with a 25-point victory. This time, Gran Canaria comes as the reigning champion in the final round. No EuroCup fans should miss this battle between two classic teams in the competition, right at the end of the regular season!

Dolomiti Energia Trento added the final piece to its roster for the upcoming season with combo guard Prentiss Hubb, who signed a one-year contract. Hubb (1.91 meters, 25 years old) arrives from German side Ludwigsburg where last season he averaged 15.4 points, 5.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 37 German League games.

Dolomiti Energia Trento added the final piece to its roster for the upcoming season with combo guard Prentiss Hubb, who signed a one-year contract. Hubb (1.91 meters, 25 years old) arrives from German side Ludwigsburg where last season he averaged 15.4 points, 5.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 37 German League games.

Hubb had similar numbers in the Basketball Champions League action, posting 15.9 points, 5.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 8 appearances in what was his first professional season after four years at the University of Notre Dame. 

"Prentiss is a player with personality, quality and that pinch of flair and madness that I think will make our fans fall in love", Trento head coach Paolo Galbiati said about his team's final summer addition. Hubb is now set to make his BKT EuroCup debut in a Trento jersey.

### Lietkabelis gets perimeter threat in Sirvydis

7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys has signed Lithuanian sharpshooter and the 2018 ANGT Finals MVP [Deividas Sirvydis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/lietkabelis-lands-sharpshooter-deividas-sirvydis/). The 23-year old sharpshooter spent last season in the G-League, splitting time between the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and the Wisconsin Herd in the G-League. In a total of 16 games, he averaged 10.4 points and 4.0 rebounds. Prior to that, he made 23 appearances over two half-seasons with the Detroit Pistons in the NBA. Sirvydis now returns to the EuroCup where he already had 35 appearances, having made his debut as an 18-year old with Rytas Vilnius. He will enter this season having made 40 of his 96 three-point attempts (41.7%) while averaging 5.7 points and 2.2 rebounds for his career, and gives Lietkabelis a dangerous perimeter threat.

### Aris inks American rookie duo

For its return to the competition, Aris Thessaloniki opted for an inexperienced but potentially dangerous duo who comes straight out of college basketball. First, the club added a presence in the paint with center [Manny Bates](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/aris-tabs-rookie-center-bates/), who played at Butler University in the 2022-23, and averaged 11.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 25 appearances. Aris then doubled-down and added [Marcus Carr](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/aris-strengthens-backcourt-with-rookie-marcus-carr/) to its backcourt. This will also be the first professional season for Carr, a 24-years old who is as experienced as it can get for embarking on his first professional season, having spent five years playing college basketball. Last season at the University of Texas he posted 15.9 points, 4.1 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals. The two should provide Aris with loads of energy on the floor, and their youth could very well be the X-factor for the team in the upcoming campaign.

Coming off a debut in which he ranked fourth among Turkish Airlines EuroLeague shot-blockers, center Ben Lammers is looking to take ALBA Berlin higher in the 2021-22 season.

### The champs upgrade frontcourt

In one of the most resounding signings of last week, Dreamland Gran Canaria landed center [Ben Lammers](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/gran-canaria-lands-center-ben-lammers/). The 27-year old Lammers spent the last three seasons with ALBA Berlin, where he averaged 7.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.0 blocks over 81 EuroLeague appearances – including 53 as a starter. Lammers is fifth in the EuroLeague with 81 blocks over the last three seasons. He also won a pair of German League championships and one German Cup in his time in Berlin. In addition, Gran Canaria added [Roko Prkacin](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/gran-canaria-adds-talent-with-roko-prkacin/) to its frontcourt mix. Prkacin has played with Basquet Girona last season, posting 6.5 points and 3.7 rebounds playing 17 minutes per game in the Spanish League. Prkacin grew up with Cibona Zagreb and has been one of the most sought after young players on the continent ever since earning MVP award for leading Croatia to a gold medal at the U16 European championship in 2018. ### An MVP and other more experienced options

A quartet of teams opted to strengthen their respective rosters with more experienced players who are eager to prove themselves in the EuroCup. The only one who has previous experience in the competition is [Brian Angola](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/hapoel-brings-swingman-braian-angola-aboard/), the 29-year old signing of Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv, who has played one game with Partizan Belgrade in the 2020-21 campaign. Paris Basketball went the familiar route, signing the sixth player who played for Telekom Baskets Bonn last season, this time none other than [T.J. Shorts](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/paris-basketball-lands-champions-league-mvp-tj-shorts/), last season's Basketball Champions League MVP. ratiopharm Ulm inked a pair of newcomers, among them Basketball Champions League Americas champion and All-BCL Americas First Team guard [Georginho](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/ulm-inks-brazilian-international-georginho/). The other new arrival at Ulm is [Dakota Mathis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/ulm-inks-sharpshooter-dakota-mathias/), a 28-year old sharpshooter in his second stint in Europe. Meanwhile, Dolomiti Energia Trento added 26-year old [Myles Stephens](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/trento-tabs-versatile-swingman-myles-stephens/), a versatile player coveted for his high basketball IQ, and also picked up a great rebounder, center [Derek Cooke](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/trento-adds-rebounding-ace-cooke/).

Joventut Badalona invested in its future signing a long-term deal with talented center Ruben Prey. On Monday, the club announced that Prey (2.12 meters, 18 years old) has signed a five-year deal, until the end of 2027-28 season. This coming season Prey will spending time between the first team and club's affiliate CB Prat.

Joventut Badalona invested in its future signing a long-term deal with talented center [Ruben Prey](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/ngt/players/ruben-prey/010708/). On Monday, the club announced that Prey (2.12 meters, 18 years old) has signed a five-year deal, until the end of 2027-28 season. This coming season Prey will be spending time between the first team and club's affiliate CB Prat.

Prey joined Joventut in 2020, and has since represented team's junior categories. Versatile and explosive, he has been Joventut's best player the past two seasons playing Adidas Next Generation Tournaments, who will now have a chance to test his talent on the next level in BKT EuroCup.

Young forward was first chosen to the All-Tournaments team at 2022 ANGT Varese after he went for 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.2 blocks. This past spring, at ANGT Patras, Prey was the tournament MVP after guiding Joventut to the tournament crown.

Prey finished the tournament averaging 14.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 3.2 blocks for a an average PIR of 24.0. In the first-place game, he was dominant in Joventut’s 71-56 victory over U18 LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne as the center collected 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks for an index rating of 31. That victory booked U18 Joventut's place at the ANGT Finals for the first time since the 2017-18 season, and in Kaunas he posted 21.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.3 blocks.

Slask Wroclaw added more size and experience to its frontcourt by signing power forward Saulius Kulvietis to a one-year contract. Kulvietis (2.06 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Buyukcekmece where he averaged 9.2 points on 40.0% three-point shooting, as well as 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in the Turkish League action last season.

Slask Wroclaw added more size and experience to its frontcourt by signing power forward [Saulius Kulvietis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/ngt/players/saulius-kulvietis/001694/) to a one-year contract. Kulvietis (2.06 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Buyukcekmece where he averaged 9.2 points on 40.0% three-point shooting, as well as 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in the Turkish League action last season.

"He has a lot of experience from the best European leagues", said Slask head coach Oliver Vidin. "I think he will be one of the leaders, although not necessarily in terms of points scored, but more in terms of the way we want to play."

A 15-year veteran, Kulvietis started his career in his hometown of Kaunas with KKM-Aisciai. He played in ANGT actions with Zalgiris Kaunas juniors before making his Lithuanian League debut with Perlas Vilnius as a teenager back in the 2009-2010. In his native country, he also played with Sakalai, Juventus Utena, Vytautas Prienu and 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys in years to follow.

Kulvietis first played outside of Lithuania in 2017-18 when he joined Juventut Badalona for a year, and played with JDA Dijon in France in 2019-20. The following season he signed with Rytas Vilnius, but moved on to play with VEF Riga in Latvia and MoraBanc Andorra in Spain that same season, and Baskets Bonn in Germany in the 2021-22. He is now set to make his BKT EuroCup debut.

Cooke (2.06 meters, 31 years old) split last season playing between Treviso in the Italian League and Frankfurt Skyliners in the German League. He averaged 7.5 points and ranked fifth with 7.9 rebounds in Treviso jersey, and improved on those numbers in the second part of the season with the Skyliners, posting 9.3 points and 8.7 rebounds in Germany.

Cooke (2.06 meters, 31 years old) split last season playing between Treviso in the Italian League and Frankfurt Skyliners in the German League. He averaged 7.5 points and ranked fifth with 7.9 rebounds in Treviso jersey, and improved on those numbers in the second part of the season with the Skyliners, posting 9.3 points and 8.7 rebounds in Germany.

This will be the first BKT EuroCup campaign for Cooke, who is entering his ninth professional season. After finishing his collegiate career at the University of Wyoming, his turned pro with a brief stint with Rethymno in the Greek League. He moved to play in D-League, first with Bakersfield and then with Northern Arizona. In years to follow, Cooke played with Perth in Australia, Raptors 505 Missisauga in G-League, Hamilton in the Canadian League, Trieste in Italy, Tsmoki-Minsk in Belarus, Brose Bamberg in Germany and Hapoel Galil Gilboa in Israel.

The defending BKT EuroCup champion Dreamland Gran Canaria added another piece to the paint on Friday by signing big man [Roko Prkacin ](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/ngt/players/roko-prkacin/007644/)on a one-year deal. Prkacin (2.06 meters, 20 years old) has played with Basquet Girona last season, posting 6.5 points and 3.7 rebounds playing 17 minutes per game in the Spanish League.

Prkacin grew up with Cibona Zagreb and has been one of the most sought after young players on the continent ever since earning MVP award for leading Croatia to a gold medal at the U16 European championship in 2018. Following that success, he made his professional debut on-loan with a Croatian second division club Rudes Zagreb that same year, and returned to Cibona that same season, helping the team win the 2019 domestic league title. Prkacin spent the next three seasons with Cibona, where he became one of the youngest team captains in club history, and leading the team to the Croatian double, league and club titles in 2022.

Prkacin has also been a member of the Croatian national team since 2020, and is now set to make his EuroCup debut wearing the jersey of the reigning champs.
