"In the first half, we had a lot of opportunities to make easy shots and we missed all of them. We are under some kind of pressure when we play at home, it’s obvious. In the second half, I expected their reaction and it we got it because they played much better defense. In the third quarter, they pushed us away from the basket and we played 10 meters away from the basket, that was the main problem. We found some open shots but the most important thing was the defense.

"An important game for us. After the last round, I expected a reaction from my team and they showed it. First of all, I talk all the time about our defensive approach, as it’s so important to play good defense. In the first half, we played perfect defense but at the other end of the court, we missed easy shots. My players feel some kind of pressure. They play with a soul, they play with huge energy, but sometimes they have a bad game. I have to use this opportunity to defend them. The first half was a real picture of that observation. In the second half, it was a totally different picture. First of all, \[London\] tried and succeeded in being much tougher and we couldn’t find easy shots. We were forced to play 10 meters from the basket and we had to find another way, with one point guard who played 33 minutes. That’s too much, \[Bell-Haynes\] played a great game at both ends and we found a way to win. I really want to use this opportunity to congratulate my players, they’ve been very good the last two games in my opinion. I wish, if possible, we could stay on the same track in the upcoming period."

“A tough loss for us. They were really good, that’s a good team. We knew that coming here after playing them the last time, playing them on the road was always going to be tough, but it’s frustrating. We made a lot of little mistakes while they were being constant. We had 12 turnovers in the first half, they scored 16 points off that, the margin was 11 at halftime. They had 17 offensive rebounds and we missed 11 free throws, you can’t do things like that and expect to win a game like this. We’ve got a lot to clean up, it starts with me. I’ve got to do a better job with the details, until we get this stuff better the results are still going to be the same against better teams in this competition."

Last-placed Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana got back to winning by edging the visiting Umana Reyer Venice 77-73 on Wednesday night in Arena Stozice. The victory snapped Cedevita's three-game losing streak and kept its playoff chances alive, improving to 3-10 in Group A. Meanwhile, Reyer dropped to 7-6 and fifth place, but did maintain the potential tiebreak advantage over Cedevita, having won their first clash by 8 points.

Yogi Ferrell paced the winners with 20 points and 7 assists. Josh Adams had 16 points, Marko Jeremic netted 14 on 4-for-7 three-point shooting, Edo Muric collected 13 points plus 7 rebounds, while Alen Omic pulled down 19 rebounds. Jayson Granger had 19 points for Reyer, Mitchell Watt had a double-double of 12 points plus 10 rebounds and Riccardo Moraschini scored 10 in a loss.

Watt was doing the work inside, while Marco Spissu and Granger each made a shot from three-point land, but Jeremic netted 3 first-quarter triples and another from Ferrell helped open a 26-18 margin. Adams and Karlo Matkovic hooked up for a pair of alley-oop dunks, but Jeff Brooks scored 6 points for the visitors, before three-pointers from Granger and Andrea De Nicolao. A three-point play from Moraschini helped Reyer open a 32-39 lead, capping a 0-13 run. Ferrell hit from downtown to make it 40-44 at halftime.

Cedevita came out with better energy in the third quarter and more triples from Jeremic, Adams and Ferrell restored the hosts' lead. Adams had a three-point play that opened a 58-53 margin, but Moraschini and Watt cut it within 61-59 after 30 minutes.

De Nicolao's triple had Reyer back ahead, 63-64. The two sides kept trading blows and neither team had a margin bigger than 3 points. A corner three from Jordan Parks made it 69-70, but Muric responded with a drive to the rim that sparked a 6-0 run. Moraschini sank another triple for the visitors, but Ferrell iced the game from the foul line.

Cedevita edges Reyer, keeps playoff hopes alive

Hapoel Vegan Friendly Tel Aviv claimed a 60-78 victory over Dolomiti Energia Trento at BLM Group Arena to extend its winning streak to six games and secure a spot in the 7DAYS Eurocup Playoffs. A 0-8 run right after halftime boosted the visitors to a double-digit lead in the third quarter and Hapoel protected it the rest of the way to improve to 9-4 while Trento dropped to 2-9 after getting its fifth loss in a row.

Chinanu Onuaku led all scorers with 22 points, going for 8-of-8 in two-pointers, and contributed 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals for a career-high PIR of 35. Jordan McRae followed with 15 points and Xavier Munford tallied 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. Darion Atkins paced Trento with 15 points, Diego Flaccadori provided 14 and Matteo Spagnolo added another 10 in the losing effort.

Trento displayed a great offensive balance in the early going, with Atkins and Andrejs Graziulis punishing inside and Spagnolo hitting from outside. As such, the hosts amassed a 14-6 advantage after 5 minutes. Hapoel improved when J’Covan Brown and Jaylen Hoard stepped onto the court, which proved enough to make it all square, 20-20, at the end of the first period. 

Trento used the three-point line to regain a short margin, as Hapoel found the free-throw line as its primary scoring weapon to resist, 26-25, midway through the second quarter. Onuaku had an immediate impact when he returned and collected a couple of three-point plays, plus drawing Atkins’s third foul, to push Hapoel in front, 32-33. The guests couldn’t enjoy it for long, as a technical foul called on Bar Timor and free throws by Maximilian Ladurner helped Trento reach halftime leading 40-37. 

Hapoel managed to sink its first three of the night through Munford right after the break and it shifted the momentum of the game. Onuaku joined Munford to score twice inside and McRae showed up later to score 9 points in less than 2 minutes to give Hapoel a double-digit lead, 48-58, that turned into a 51-58 edge entering the last stanza. 

The good trend continued for the visitors early in the fourth period, as they got a 0-7 spark that included a three-pointer by Timor that made it 51-65 with 7 minutes remaining. Trento called for a timeout to stop the bleeding, but it only provided a short 4-0 run that didn’t push Hapoel aside from the right track. Another 0-8 run by the guests in which four different players scored established a 56-73 advantage to all but seal the win.

Prometey Slobozhanske grabbed sole possession of first place in Group A by knocking off Joventut Badalona 95-90 at home on Wednesday. Prometey used a 9-2 late run to secure its sixth straight victory for a 9-4 record. DJ Kennedy paced the winners with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, while Issuf Sanon had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Caleb Agada tallied 15 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Joventut dropped to 8-5 and 3-4 on the road despite four scorers in double figures; Joel Parra scored 17 points, Kyle Guy had 16, Henry Ellenson collected 14 points and 10 rebounds and Ante Tomic chipped in 13 points in the loss.

Prometey started lights out from long range with Kennedy hitting 2 triples and the team went 4-of-5 on three-pointers to race ahead 22-10. Joventut answered with the next 5 points and the gap was down to 25-20 on Leonardo Okeke’s three-point play. Prometey was up 26-20 after 10 minutes.

The home side held Joventut scoreless for the first 2 minutes of the second quarter and Sanon helped push the advantage to 35-20. Joventut got within 8 points multiple times, but then fell behind 45-32 and was down 49-38 at the break.

Joventut came out of the locker room in strong form with Joel Parra scoring 5 points in a 2-11 surge to get within 51-49. Another Parra score put Joventut ahead 53-54. Sanon began taking over with 10 points - including 2 three-pointers - in a 16-0 Prometey finish to the third quarter and a 72-57 lead.

Joventut was not ready to concede defeat and Tomic and Guy combined for 9 points in a 4-12 start to the fourth and trim the deficit to 7 points. It was then Ellenson’s turn to step up with 8 points to make it 84-82. Andres Feliz cut the gap to 1 point on a three-pointer only to have Gian Clavell answer from deep for the hosts with 89 seconds left. Kennedy and Ondrej Balvin followed with baskets to deliver the knockout punch.

Game Center: Buducnost, Hapoel win and clinch playoff spots

Buducnost VOLI Podgorica made sure of finishing in the top eight of Group B and clinched a playoff spot with a 78-68 home win over the London Towers on Wednesday. Buducnost improved to an 8-5 record while London dropped to 5-8.

Erick Green paced Buducnost with 16 points, Trae Bell-Haynes scored 14 and Cameron Reynolds netted 11, while the outstanding Sam Dekker led London and all scorers with 27 points to go with 8 rebounds. Ovie Soko added 11 points for the Lions.

The game got off to a slow start as both sides struggled in offense, with London missing its opening 13 shots from the floor and netting the first with only 1:13 minutes left on the clock in the first quarter. That allowed Buducnost to take a 10-3 lead and the home team was 13-7 ahead at the end of the first period. That marked London’s fewest points in a single quarter of a EuroCup game. Its previous low was 10 points in the third quarter against Gran Canaria earlier this season.

Both teams improved slightly in the second quarter as Buducnost was 21-15 ahead midway through, with Reynolds leading the way for the Montenegrin side while Dekker stood out at the other end. Reynolds and Haynes had 8 points each for Buducnost in the first half while the versatile Dekker netted 14 for London, including a buzzer-beating three-pointer which slashed the home team’s advantage to 37-26 at halftime. That, incidentally, was the opening half’s only three-pointer on either side, with Buducnost shooting 0 of 6 while London hit 1 of 6.

The home side was in cruise control in the opening 5 minutes of the third quarter but London found another gear and, helped by two dunks from Josh Sharma in quick succession, reduced the arrears to 43-39 before Marko Jagodic-Kuridza hit Buducnost’s first three-pointer of the evening.

Sharma had three dunks in the third quarter, profiting from some fine pick-and-roll plays with his teammates, while Jagodic-Kuridza sank another three-pointer following an audacious long-range effort from Bell-Haynes which amounted to a 54-44 lead for the home team ahead of the final period.

Dekker opened the fourth quarter with a dunk but London was kept at bay as Buducnost caused damage to the visitors with trademark offensive rebounding and it was clear London faced an uphill battle when Bell-Haynes hit another one from downtown to give the home team a 64-50 lead. The visitors replied with an 8-2 run inspired by the unstoppable Dekker, with his ability to score from various positions carrying London’s effort to stage a comeback. However, the writing was on the wall when Green made a long three to give Buducnost a 74-63 lead with 1:37 left on the clock and the hosts closed out the contest to make the knockout stage of the competition with five games to spare.

"To beat Badalona is a big achievement for the club. We played well in the first half. In the second half, we started struggling. I took some risks and stretched some players’ minutes too much and we got tired. But in the end, character won the game."

"The problem was the first half. The team played better in the second half. But it’s clear when you allow 95 points it’s very difficult to win away. But Prometey played very well. They are a very good team."

"We knew a lot was at stake, that this was for first place in our group. We just want to keep locking in and taking it one game at a time. We did a good job. They made a good run. That is a great team but we were able to fight at the end and get the win.

"It was a big game for us being in second place and playing the first-place team. Us getting the win and being able to be in first place is a pretty good feeling, but we can’t relax. We have other teams gunning for us."

### Hapoel Vegan Friendly Tel Aviv head coach Danny Franco:

"First of all, it was not a great game of ours but in the second half, we came out playing defense as we knew. We got 40 points in the first 20 minutes, we spoke about that at halftime and came back to receive only 20 points in the second half. Cannot go better than that, and we built our confidence on offense as well. Even on a bad shooting night, we came up with a good result 

"I would like to thank Trento for great hospitality. I’ve been in Italy several times but never here. Italy is always beautiful and very nice, I like to thank the organization, before basketball and everything, for the conditions, and the chance to see the beautiful side city of Trento. For us, it was a mental game coming off a couple of big wins, with good atmosphere in the team. A great win can be good for confidence sometimes, but overconfidence is not good. Mentally I think we struggled a little bit in the first half, but we picked it up defensively in the second. That effort on defense helped us win in a game that we didn’t play our way on offense, with a lot of turnovers. Defensively we locked in as a team, and that helped us get this important win and go back home smiling."

  

### Dolomiti Energia Trento head coach Emanuele Molin:

"I think we played pretty good the first two quarters, doing well what we were supposed to do, slowing down their transition and their shot selection. In the second half, we did not have any more energy to answer their power. We created a lot of good shots but we didn’t shoot well. When Hapoel got the lead, we went down and trashed all what we were doing."

"We actually played defense \[in the second half\], we got stops, and it helped us getting in offense, getting easy buckets and have more flow on offense. \[What we can still improve is\] just our defense and team rebounding, that’s it. If we can do that, we can take it all the way."
