"That is excatly what it is \[being satisfied after the win\]. That's the case. That's what you play for, to win basketball games and we played for it. No matter what happened, we remained dedicated to our defensive plan. I think everybody fulfilled his defensive task in a pretty good way, and I think we played intelligent in the crucial moments. Every game is difficult no matter where you play in this competition. Every game will be very important. Every opponent will be strong. For us, it is an important win, we were missing two very important players. Still, we managed to get the job done and that's very good. The players fought very hard.

"We did a good job on both ends of the floor. We initiated our offense with our defense and that was the game. We knew we were facing a strong team with a deep roster and a high level of athleticism. We knew that if we wanted to get the job done, we had to be committed on the defensive end and I think we did a good job there. Offensively, we turned the ball over a lot in the first half. I think that in the second half, we played more team basketball. We shared the ball and took the right decisions. Definitely, it is a game from which you have to learn a lot. You have to learn how to operate in the crucial moments but we deserve a lot of credit and move on to the next one."

"It is a missed opportunity, certainly by our players and by me as well. Our group is getting back together, so it is going to take a while for us to gel, but it has to happen soon because every night is a night in which we have to compete in the leagues we are playing.

"We don’t know \[the extent of Yago Dos Santos’s injury\], but this is really bad for us. Yago is very important for us and we will see how long he is going to be out for. Hopefully, it’s not that bad but it’s a tough one.

"We have to be competitive. This is something we were missing in Ljubljana last week where we got beaten by 30 and we have to put a fight every single time, every single night, even when we don’t have shooting nights like today. Edo Muric was killing us, an incredible performance, and like every game we have played until now, we decided the game in one possession. 

"It was a very tough game and I’m very proud of my players. Everyone who stepped on the court gave his all, it doesn’t matter if it was for 3 minutes or 25. Everybody fought really hard to get the win. We had the will and desire to get the win. We came by bus and it’s a long trip so I would like to thank the club who allowed us to come two days ago to prepare for the game.”

But in the second half, we played defense together as a team, and that was key for our victory."

Coach Can, Turk Telekom: 'We stuck with our principles and played aggressively'

Prometey Slobozhanske shifted its potent offense into a top gear and downed U-BT Cluj-Napoca 105-82 on Wednesday night behind a strong second half. In a battle of a pair of EuroCup newcomers, Prometey used 15 three-pointers and six double-digit scorers to get back to winning ways, snapping a two-game losing streak and improving to 4-4 in Group B. Cluj remained winless in its four road games and dropped to 3-5 on the season.

Ondrej Balvin had 23 points and 6 rebounds, while DJ Kennedy tallied 23 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Gian Clavell finished with 17, Oleksand Lypovyy netted 13, Issuf Sanon scored 12 and Denys Lukashov had 10 points in the victory. Patrick Richard posted 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the visitors. Leonardo Meindl scored 17, Andrija Stipanovic had 12 of his 14 points in the first half, and Emanuel Cate also scored 14 in a losing effort.

Prometey opened the game hot from long range. The hosts made five of their first six attempts in less than 5 and a half minutes, including a pair from Sanon and one from Kennedy that made it 22-16. But Cluj had its offense clicking early, especially from close range. Stipanovic strung together 8 points bridging the first and second quarters to put Cluj up, 28-31. Stipanovic scored 4 more points, and Victor Sanders a triple to extend it to 33-40, but Kennedy and Lypovyy quickly erased the deficit. Cluj, however, did well getting to the line and restored the lead, taking 51-57 into halftime. 

Kennedy fueled a 9-0 run for the hosts early in the third quarter to re-take the lead, 60-59, and then Balvin took over, stringing together 10 points, including a triple and a three-point play, to help make it 79-67.  Richard and Stipanovic cut it to 79-72 at the end of the third, but Lypovyy netted 2 more three-pointers for the hosts early in the fourth, fueling a 12-2 run to open a 91-74 margin. Two triples from Clavell broke the 20-point barrier, 99-79, as Prometey was cruising to victory.

Prometey's offense slams Cluj with big second half

Turk Telekom Ankara is now leading the standings in Group B in this year's 7DAYS EuroCup after beating the London Lions 102-74 at Ankara Spor Salonu on Wednesday evening. This victory advanced Turk Telekom to 6-2, whereas London saw its three-game winning run come to an end as it dropped to 4-4.

Nathan Sestina and Jerian Grant were Turk Telekom's star performers on the night, with the former scoring 20 points and the latter contributing 18 points and 9 assists. The hosts also had Erkan Yilmaz score 15 points, and Axel Bouteille and Tyrique Jones had 13 apiece. For London, Sam Dekker and Kosta Koufos were the team's leading scorers with 20 and 13 points, respectively, while both also grabbed 7 rebounds.

London came into this contest on the back of a three-game winning run, and it used that momentum in the early stages. Koufos and Dekker were both involved early for the visitors, combining to score six points to open an early 2-6 lead. Turk Telekom soon began to find its feet, though, with Grant coming to the fore with 7 points to swing the momentum, 13-12. In the final minute of the first quarter, however, back-to-back triples by Vojtech Hruban and Dekker helped London end the first 10 minutes ahead, 13-18. London managed to hold its lead until just over seven minutes into the second quarter, with Koufos making life difficult for the hosts in the paint, but turnovers began to hinder the visitors' chances. First, Tony Taylor drained a three-pointer to tie the game, 31-31, with 2:57 to go until halftime. Then, Sestina provided an added boost of energy to give his team the lead, which they held until the break, 40-36. After London had won the first quarter 13-18, Turk Telekom responded by outscoring head coach Ryan Schmidt's team 27-18 in the second. Turk Telekom came out for the second half on fire, with Jones completing an alley-oop play from Taylor to quickly get the fans off their seats once again. Grant began to take more of a back seat for the hosts, with Ridvan Oncel, Yilmaz and Sestina all making big plays, particularly from the three-point line. London trailed by just four points at the break, but midway through the quarter, it was down by 15, 57-42. Jones kept finding a way of grabbing rebounds and putting points on the board, which only aided Turk Telekom's efforts, as it entered the fourth quarter ahead 72-54. Yilmaz and Bouteille continued the scoring for Turk Telekom late on, as it coasted to a 102-74 victory.

Turk Telekom caught fire to down London

Not many players in the 7DAYS EuroCup have done a better job of scoring in recent weeks than ratiopharm Ulm swingman [Karim Jallow](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/karim-jallow/005422/).

The 25-year-old made his EuroCup debut with FC Bayern Munich as far back as the 2015-16 season, but his first full campaign in the competition came last year with Ulm. Across 18 appearances in 2021-22, half of them as a starter, Jallow averaged 7.1 points on 54.2% two-point shooting and 2.9 rebounds.

Jallow remained at that average during the first four rounds of this season, a span that saw him post 7.3 points and 3.3 rebounds. He made a total of 10 two-point shots during the first four games and averaged a PIR of 6.5.

Since Round 5, however, Jallow has drastically improved his scoring. He nearly doubled his total of two-pointers made in a Round 5 game against Joventut Badalona, when 7 of his 12 two-point shots dropped en route to 14 points, his first double-digit scoring game of the season.

Jallow followed that up with the best game of his EuroCup career so far. In a 105-106 road win at Prometey Slobozhanske, Jallow finished with a career-high 24 points on a perfect shooting night from the field, going 7-of-7 from two-point range and 2-of-2 from deep. He also pulled down 5 rebounds and recorded a career-high PIR of 29.

Who's Hot: Karim Jallow ratiopharm Ulm

Last week, Jallow continued his impressive set of performances after scoring 13 points, grabbing 4 rebounds and dishing 2 assists, yet it came in a tough 108-78 road loss at Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana.

Over the last three games, Jallow has averaged 17.0 points, which is more than double the figure he posted during the first four rounds of the season. He has also done it on 72.0% shooting, in addition to pulling down 3.7 rebounds. Only 10 players have scored more points since Round 5 than Jallow's 51.

Jallow will try to continue his hot streak on Wednesday night as Ulm hosts Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse, who has a EuroCup-best 6-1 record. Should Jallow perform as he has done in the last three rounds, it would go a long way towards helping Ulm take down Bourg and register the team's fourth win of the season.
