Prometey Slobozhanske has confirmed the return of DJ Stephens for the upcoming season, the team announced on Thursday. Stephens (1.96 meters, 31 years old) made 22 appearances for Prometey last season before basketball was brought to a halt in Ukraine, at which point he joined Fos Provence of France. He averaged 12.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 10 Ukrainian League matches in 2021-22. Then, with Fos Provence, he averaged 11.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 12 French League games.

Stephens spent four years at the University of Memphis before going on to play professionally for Ilysiakos of Greece, Milwaukee and Memphis of the NBA, Anadolu Efes Istanbul of Turkey, Zenit Saint Petersburg of Russia, Canton, Iowa and Memphis of the G League, Budivelnyk of Ukraine, Vaqueros de Bayamon of Puerto Rico, Le Mans of France and Manama Club of Bahrain. In 2020 he joined Prometey and remained there until 2022, when he signed for Fos Provence. Now, Stephens returns to Prometey to compete in the 7DAYS EuroCup.
