Prometey added another weapon by signing Gian Clavell, who was one of the top performers in the Ukrainian League last season with Budivelnyk Kyiv. Clavell (1.93 meters, 28 years old) averaged 26.4 points on 43.0% three-point shooting, 5.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.4 steals in 14 games with Budivelnyk last season before the Ukrainian League was cancelled. He is currently playing for Cangrejeros de Santurce in his native Puerto Rico.

Clavell has previously played for Dallas in the NBA, Texas in the G-League, Sakarya and Frutti Extra Bursaspor in Turkey, Estudiantes Madrid in Spain, Avtodor Saratov in Russia, Promitheas Patras in Greece and Brujos de Guayama in Puerto Rico. He has also been a member of the Puerto Rican national team, with which he won a gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2018.
