Promitheas Patras spent the majority of the game trailing against Gran Canaria, but at the end rallied to a 93-82 win on Wednesday night.
Even though Joe Young finished with 34 points, it seemed as though the hosts might never catch Gran Canaria which had Vitor Benite, AJ Slaughter and Nicolas Brussino all hitting timely triples and keeping the visitors with the lead.
With 4 minutes left, Promitheas still trailed 76-82, but little did we know that the hosts will scored the final 16 points of the night.
Young started things, last week's MVP of the Round Arnoldas Kulboka hit a triple to tie it at 82-82, before team captain Nikolaos Gkikas hit a three-pointer that put Promitheas in front, 85-82.
After another defensive stand, Trevis Simpson hit his only field goal of the night, triple with 32 seconds to go, making it 88-82. Ensuing free throes from Michalis Tsairelis sealed the deal, only for Gkikas to finish things off with his fourth three-pointer on as many attempts, as Promitheas improved to 2-0 in Group B.
