Joventut Badalona had a strong start to the 2022-23 7DAYS EuroCup by downing Germani Brescia 80-63 at home on Tuesday. It was a balanced game for 30 minutes before Henry Ellenson stepped up big early in the fourth quarter.

Ellenson had 7 points in a 17-0 run that allowed Joventut to seal the outcome long the final buzzer. He led the winners with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Andres Feliz and Pau Ribas each added 10 points for Joventut. Amedeo Della Valle and John Petrucelli paced Brescia with 13 points apiece and Troy Caupain netted 11 for the visitors. Joventut finished the game with 23 assists and limited Brescia to just 7, in what was one of the biggest keys to the game.
The first quarter saw as many as 10 lead changes and at the end of it, Kyle Guy struck from downtown for a 23-22 lead. Ellenson, Joel Parra and Ribas fueled a 10-0 run that gave Joventut a 33-24 margin. Caupain and Kenny Gabriel stepped up for Brescia to bring the visitors closer, 40-37, near halftime. Guy gave Joventut its first double-digit lead, 47-37, right after the break. Della Valle and Petrucelli helped Brescia bet within 50-49. Then Ellenson hit a three-pointer to ignite a 17-0 run in which Feliz and Ribas each struck from beyond the arc. By the time Ellenson thrilled the crowd with a four-point play, Joventut led 67-49 and was on its way to victory.
