Umana Reyer Venice added experience and know-how to its backcourt by inking point guard Jayson Granger to a one-year deal, the club announced Monday. Granger (1.88 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, where he averaged 7.3 points and 3.9 assists in 30 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, in which he helped his team reach the Spanish League semifinals. It was his second stint with Baskonia. In the first one, Granger lifted the Spanish League trophy with his former club in 2020.

Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Granger started his professional basketball career with Spanish side Estudiantes. He has also played for Unicaja Malaga of Spain, Anadolu Efes Istanbul of Turkey and ALBA Berlin of Germany. He helped ALBA win the German League title in 2021. Granger returns to the 7DAYS EuroCup for the first time in over a decade - he averaged 5.4 points and 4.3 assists in 14 games with Estudiantes in the 2010-11 season. In 206 EuroLeague career games with Unicaja, Efes, Baskonia and ALBA, Granger amassed 1,811 points and 845 assists. Granger has also been a member of the Uruguayan national team, helping it get a bronze medal at the 2012 South American championship.
