It was a historic night for Hapoel Tel Aviv, which claimed its first-ever 7DAYS EuroCup win in its opening game in the competition. It bested another newcomer, London Lions, 76-59.
Telling numbers: Hapoel took care of the ball

Hapoel took better care of the ball and that was one of the biggest keys of the game. Hapoel committed only 6 turnovers and finished the game with 17 assists. London had the same number of assists as its opponent, but finished the game with 13 turnovers and those extra possessions gave Hapoel a significant advantage.
London struggled from beyond the three-point line, making only 4 of its 26 attempts from beyond the arc (15.4%). Hapoel did much better even though it didn't excel from downtown, burying 11 of 37 attempts (29.7%). Both teams missed a lot of shots and both grabbed 45 rebounds. In a battle of newcomers, many mistakes were made but Hapoel managed to minimize the turnovers and shoot the ball better and that led to an important home victory.
