Trefl Sopot strengthened its backcourt by inking guard Trey McGowens to a one-year deal, the club announced Friday.
McGowens (1.90 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Edmonton Stingers, where he averaged 16.4 points on 46.9% three-pointers, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists in eight Canadian CEBL League games last season. He played for three G League teams throughout the 2023-24 campaign: Raptors 905, College Park and Long Island. McGowens, whose brother Bryce currently plays in the NBA, helped USA win a gold medal in the 2023 FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup, earning MVP honors. He is set to make his BKT EuroCup debut with Trefl next season.
