Lithuanian forward moves to Italy with Trento.
Trento adds veteran forward Eigirdas Zukauskas
Dolomiti Energia Trento continued building its roster for the upcoming season, adding size and muscle by signing forward Eigirdas Zukauskas to a one-year deal, the club announced Saturday. Zukauskas (2.03 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Wolves Twinsbet Vilnius where he spent the last two seasons.
Last season, Zukauskas made his BKT EuroCup debut with the Wolves, and averaged 6.4 points and 3.5 rebounds. He also posted 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds in the Lithuanian League action.
The veteran forward turned pro 15 years ago, first with Vilniaus KM-Magnus and then the following two seasons with Anyksciu Puntukas-Dussman, Statyba Vilnius and Radviliskis-Juodeliai. In 2012 he got his first taste of the Lithuanian premier division with Siauliai, and he also played with Mazeikiai and Dzukija Alytus.
Zukauskas then spent two seasons in France in lower-division sides Bordeaux Basket and Saint Chamond Basket, and after year back in his native country with Prienu, he moved to Russia and played five seasons with Parma Basket Perm before a short stint with Tofas Bursa in the Turkish League late in the 2021-22 season.
