Trento tabs Selom Mawugbe
Dolomiti Energia Trento has announced the signing of Selom Mawugbe on a one-year deal.
Mawugbe (2.08 meters, 25 years old) last played for Manresa, averaging 1.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 13 Spanish League games last season.
He started the 2023-24 campaign with Le Mans in France, posting 4.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in eight Basketball Champions League appearances, as well as 4.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocks in 21 French League games.
For the first time in his career, Mawugbe will appear in the BKT EuroCup next season. He began his professional career with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League, playing there between 2020 and 2022, before heading to Europe to join the Rostock Seawolves in the 2022-23 season. That has been his best statistical season to date, averaging 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 34 German League games.
Last summer, Mawugbe opted to head to Le Mans, then saw out the campaign with Manresa. Now, he arrives in Italy and will be looking to make his mark in the EuroCup.
