Turk Telekom climbs in the standings with 88-73 win over Lietkabelis
Turk Telekom Ankara's quest to turn its season around took a major step in Round 16 as the 2022-23 BKT EuroCup finalist finally moved into the playoff spots following an 88-73 victory over 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys. The Turkish side wasted an 11-point lead but used a 13-3 run in the fourth quarter to grab its fourth straight win and its sixth in the last seven games for a 7-9 record. Lietkabelis lost its fourth straight and its seventh in the last eight games for a 5-11 record.
Tyrone Wallace poured in 31 points with 7 rebounds for Turk Telekom, James Palmer had 20 points, and Yigitcan Saybir and Jarrod Jones both added 13 points. Lietkabelis's Deividas Sirvydis scored 18 points and Dovis Bickauskis added 14 points.

The game started with four lead changes as Jarrod Jones hit a triple and was followed by a Wallace put-back, with the score 12-6. The guests missed their first six three-pointers and fell behind 15-8 before Sirvydis hit from deep. Bickauskis also knocked down a three-pointer and it was 19-16 after 10 minutes.
Okben Ulubay and Saybir began the second quarter with three-point plays, and a Wallace dunk extended the cushion to 27-18. Another Jones three-pointer pushed the advantage to 32-21. Bickauskis scored 6 straight points to get the guests within 34-29. Another Jones three-pointer helped Turk Telekom get the lead back out to double figures, 41-31. The hosts went into the locker room 44-36 up at the break.
Wallace’s three-pointer reestablished Turk Telekom’s 11-point lead, 49-38. Lietkabelis punched right back with the next 12 points on triples from Gabrielius Maldunas, Sirvydis and Martynas Varnas to go ahead 49-50. Turk Telekom snapped a nearly 4-minute scoreless stretch, only to see Vytenis Lipkevicius and Stefan Bircevic both add three-pointers as the guests took a 55-58 lead. Lietkabelis led the game 59-60 after 30 minutes.
Wallace opened the final frame with a three-pointer, and 4 straight points from Palmer had the home side 68-64 up halfway through the period. Lietkabelis went more than 2 minutes without a score before 2 Nikola Popovic free throws. Wallace punched back with 4 points, Saybir added a tip-in and Palmer connected on a three-pointer for a 77-67 lead with 2 minutes to play. Palmer delivered the knockout punch with a three-pointer for an 80-68 margin with 74 seconds to go.
