Turk Telekom tabs defensive ace Javon Bess

Turk Telekom Ankara strengthened its frontcourt by signing power forward Javon Bess, the club announced Monday. Bess (1.98 meters, 28 years old) arrives from s.oliver Wuerzburg, where he averaged 10.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 39 German League games last season. He was named the Defensive Player of the Year in the German League with 64% of the vote.
Bess played college basketball at Sant Louis University, where he averaged 15.3 points and 6.8 rebounds in 36 NCAA games in the 2018-19 campaign, his last with the Billikens. Before that, he helped Michigan State University to make it to the 2015 NCAA Tournament Final Four. Bess started his professional career with Erie Bay of the G League and also played for UMF Tindastoll Sauoarkrokur of Iceland and BG Goettingen of Germany.
