After playing college basketball for Syracuse University, Ennis started his professional career with the Phoenix Suns, who selected him with the 18th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He also played for Bakersfield and Raptors 905 of the G League as well as for the Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. Ennis first came to Europe in 2018 to play for Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, but his season was cut short by injury. He later suited up for Turk Telekom Ankara and Tofas Bursa in Turkiye.
