“Congratulations to the team for the win that keeps us in the race for the top spot in our group. I thought we started the game very well. Andrew [Albicy] with his aggressive defense and everybody else that followed showed us the way how we should play. But unfortunately, we didn’t continue with the same intensity and aggressiveness which brought us the result [in the first quarter]. It became a game and I am not happy about [my players competing about] who is going to score more points. This not the way we want to play or the way we want to win, so apart from the win we are going home [realizing] that we have to do much better.”
“Gran Canaria started really well, and after we fell behind it became very difficult to come back into the game. I think Gran Canaria had a big start defensively and put us in trouble quickly. They controlled the result, but we competed and, for me, that’s the most important thing. It’s a learning curve for my team.”
"We started well but maybe we relaxed a little bit, so they came back. They have really talented players, they kept playing the whole game even when they were down by 9 or 10 points. Today the whole team made a great effort. Everybody scored, everybody passed the ball. It was a tough match but we grew today and we’ve got to keep doing that."
