As one of the most productive players in 7DAYS EuroCup in recent weeks, big man Tomer Ginat has been a big part of Boulogne Metropolitans 92 winning four of its last five games.
Who's Hot: Tomer Ginat, Metropolitans
After a slower start to the season and an injury that forced him to miss two games, Tomer Ginat has been playing on a high level since the start of this calendar year. By contributing in just about any facet of the game, he has been an instrumental part in Metropolitans' rise up in the standings.
Ginat scored 10 or more points in each of the last four games. He also pulled down at least 6 rebounds in three of those four and had a PIR of at least 19 in each of Metropolitans' last three games, all victories.
Ginat started 2022 with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists in a road loss against Lietkabelis Panevezys in Round 9. He followed that with his best game of the season, when he posted 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 rebounds in a home win over Turk Telekom Ankara.
In the team's Round 11 win at Slask Wroclaw, Ginat contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists, before matching his season-high of 13 points to go with 4 rebounds and 3 assists, in a win over Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar.
Ginat scored more total points over the last four games than he did in his first six appearances of the season. It led him to improve from 7.7 points per game in his first six games to 12.0 points per game since Round 9.
But it is not just his scoring average that improved. Ginat failed to score a single three-point shot in his first 7 games and shot just 9 free throw attempts over that span. Since then, however, Ginat has made 3 of 4 triples and has gone to the free-throw line twice as often, attempting 18 free throws in the last three games, making 13 of them.
In addition to all that, Ginat's involvement and role in Metropolitans' recent success includes him dishing 1.5 assists until Round 9, but almost doubling that figure to 2.8 per game since. Also, Ginat had 4 steals in the last four games after getting only 1 steal in the earlier part of the season.
It all led to Ginat being one of the most productive players in recent weeks. Over the last three rounds, Ginat has accumulated a performance index rating of 60. That's second-best on the team and seventh-best in the competition over that stretch.
Such performances have played a big part in Metropolitans climbing to fourth place in Group A standings, and Ginat will look to continue performing at this level on Tuesday when his team visits Dolomiti Energia Trento.
