NINERS Chemnitz have strengthened their roster with the signing of center Gavin Schilling, the club announced on Saturday. Schilling (2.06 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Basketball Loewen Braunschweig, where he played last season.
Schilling brings substantial experience from both the German League and international competitions, having previously suited up for FC Bayern Munich and ratiopharm ulm in Germany as well as Limoges CSP in France, Konyaspor in Turkiye and Pesaro in Italy. He has also played for the German national team.
“I am excited for the opportunity and happy to join the NINERS. I’m looking forward to working with the coaching staff and my new teammates, and helping the team compete at a high level,” Schilling said.
A Michigan State product, Schilling began his professional career with Ulm in 2018. He has built a reputation as a physical presence and reliable defender, and will look to contribute in the paint for Chemnitz after battling injuries in recent seasons.
