Gran Canaria head coach Jaka Lakovic:
"Congratulations to the players for the win and for finishing first in the EuroCup regular season. We let Hamburg take 17 offensive rebounds and were not executing our plays like we know and in the end, it's a win, but we have to do better, and we will. I am aware that the EuroCup is an important competition for us. I believe that Gran Canaria may be the team with more games played in the EuroCup, or close to being first. It is always present in the EuroCup. Now, we clinched first place overall, not just in our group, and I am very happy about that.
"The most difficult part comes now, which is the single-game elimination rounds, but for me, as a coach, the road is much more important, the road that we went through for the last eight months, traveling a lot, playing really well all EuroCup regular season long. We all know what we want and what we would like, but the road will be difficult. I believe that, like I said, we can do it but we have to be aware that only when we give 100%, as we know we can give. We have clear ideas and are aware that there are several teams with the same wishes."
Veolia Towers Hamburg head coach Benka Barloschky:
"We knew before that we had to have a very special offensive performance to compete tonight. In the end, I am very happy with the performance, we did a lot of things right, a lot of things that we asked ourselves before the game, we did. But we didn't shoot the ball well enough to win the game in the end."
Gran Canaria guard Andrew Albicy:
"We are happy to get the win, to secure the first spot and the home-court advantage that, for us, is very important because we don't lose [in the EuroCup] this year in Gran Canaria. We are just happy about that and now, the real stuff is coming, so we will be ready in two weeks."
