Aris Thessaloniki added another piece to its roster for the upcoming return to the BKT EuroCup by signing shooting guard Roberto Gallinat on a one-year deal, the club announced Monday. Gallinat (1.93 meters, 26 years old) split last season between Sluc Nancy in France and AS Karditsas in the Greek League. Gallinat posted 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists with Nancy, before dominating with 20.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists with Karditsas.
Gallinat helped Karditsas avoid relegation, leading the team to wins in four of the 10 games he was with the team. The club had 1-11 record when he arrived. He particularly impressed in a 78-77 overtime win against Aris, when he scored 32 points on 6-for-8 three-point shooting.
After two season playing NCAA basketball at the University of Pacific, Gallinat started his professional career with Horsens in Denmark. He moved to play one season with Eurobasket Roma in the Italian second division, and spent the second part of the 2021-22 campaign with Yalova Belediye Spor in Turkiye. Last season with Nancy was the only stop in Gallinat's pro career so far where he did not average more than 16.0 points per game. He is now set to make his EuroCup debut.
