Aris Thessaloniki added frontcourt depth by signing veteran forward Diamantis Slaftsakis to deal for the upcoming season, the club announced Friday. Slaftsakis (2.01 meters, 28 years old) arrives from a city rival PAOK where he posted 2.3 points and 1.4 rebounds in Greek League action last season. Slaftsakis returns to Aris where he already spent three years between 2018 and 2021.
Slaftsakis spent his entire career in native Greece. He started with Mas Mantoulidis before moving to KAO Dramas. He also played with Koroivos, Apollon Patras and Trikala before his first stint with Aris. From there, Slaftsakis went to Kolossos Rodou and PAOK. A man who played for Greek national teams throughout the youth categories is now set to make his BKT EuroCup debut.
