Besiktas Istanbul has strengthened its roster for the upcoming season with the addition of experienced shooting guard Yigit Arslan, the club announced Friday. Arslan (1.98 meters, 27 years old) arrives from a fellow Turkish side Bahcesehir where he averaged 11.3 points and 4.1 rebounds in Turkish League action, as well as 10.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 15 Basketball Champions League games last season.
The 27-year old has spent his entire career in his native Turkey, starting out with Tofas Bursa, where he spent a total of six seasons in two stints, before spells with Galatasaray and Bahcesehir.
Arslan, who has also represented Turkey at senior international level, has made 30 EuroCup appearances for his former teams, averaging 5.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for his career. He now returns to the competition for the first time since the 2019-20 campaign.
