

Turk Telekom Ankara took another step torwards securing home-court advantage in the upcoming 7DAYS EuroCup Eighthfinals by downing Promitheas Patras 85-75 in the Turkish capital in Group B on Tuesday. Turk Telekom improved to 11-4 in the standings and is now on a three-game winning streak. It has a 2-0 record against Promitheas, which dropped to 9-6, that saw its own three-game winning streak come to an end.
Axel Bouteille led the winners with 21 points. Jerian Grant added 19 and 6 assists, Nathan Sestina had 18 points while Tony Taylor scored 12 for Turk Telekom. Arnoldas Kulbokas led Promitheas with 23 points on 7-for-11 three-point shooting. Anthony Cowan added 19 points, Joe Thomasson had 17 and George Conditt 11 for the guests.
Grant fed Micheal Eric for a dunk and nailed a three-pointer in a 9-2 opening run. Turk Telekom found a new go-to guy in Bouteille, who singlehandedly made it a double-digit game, 15-4. Sestina followed a jumper with a triple and Grant added an acrobatic three-point play but Thomasson and Kulboka kept Promitheas within 25-17 after 10 minutes. Kulboka struck from downtown and added a floater for a 26-22 score early in the second quarter. Erkan Yilmaz and Bouteille fueled a 12-0 run which Sestina capped with a dunk for a 38-22 Turk Telekom lead. Cowan and Thomasson kept Promitheas within 50-38 at halftime.
Kulboka struck three times from downtown right after the break and Thomasson downed a jumper that brought Promitheas as close as 54-49. Kulboka buried his fifth triple and Conditt's consecutive layups tied it at 56-56. Taylor and Bouteille restored a 60-58 Turk Telekom lead after 30 minutes. Sestina downed a corner triple and Taylor hit a floater for a 65-58 score with 7 minutes to go. Grant took over with three consecutive baskets, then Bouteille added a floater, a turnaround jumper and a three-pointer that sealed the outcome, 78-68, in the next-to-last minute.
