Pallacanestro Brescia has added athleticism and 7DAYS EuroCup experience to its backcourt by inking playmaker Troy Caupain for the upcoming season, the club announced on Thursday. Caupain (1.93 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Darussafaka Istanbul, where he averaged 12.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 37 Turkish League games last season. He started his professional basketball career with Lakeland of the G League and also played for GSZ Amici Pallacanestro Udine of Italy, Orlando of the NBA, Hapoel Unet Holon of Israel, Filou Ostend of Belgium and ratiopharm Ulm of Germany.
Brescia tabs guard Caupain
Caupain made his EuroCup debut with Ulm in the 2020-21 season, averaging 10.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 10 games. He earned MVP of the Round honors in his first-ever game in the competition, leading Ulm to an 84-76 victory over Mornar Bar. Caupain had 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for a PIR of 34. Caupain boosted his average numbers up to 13.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 42 German League games that season.
