Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana has confirmed that Karlo Matkovic will be a part of the team next season. Matkovic (2.07 meters, 21 years old) has spent the last three years away from Cedevita on loan, playing for OKK Beograd of Serbia in 2019-20 before going on to suit up for Mega Basket of Serbia in each of the last two seasons. In 2021-22, he averaged 11.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocks in 25 games for Mega in the ABA League.

Matkovic, who was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, began his professional career with Cedevita in the 2018-19 season, as he made five appearances prior to going out on loan in the summer of 2019. He represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at youth level, but in February 2022 he made his debut for the Croatian national team. In the 2022 NBA Draft, Matkovic was selected by New Orleans with the 52nd overall pick, but it decided that he would remain in Europe to continue his development.
