“Congratulations to the players and the fans. We played tough, a strong game, a smart game and at the end, we deserved to win. Tomorrow is a new day, we start to prepare for the next game... We had some trouble at moments in the game, but in the end, we were able to win the rebounding and that was the key. We helped each other in rebounding and from that we scored some fastbreak points. We showed character, congratulations to the players.”
Joan Penarroya, Valencia Basket head coach:
“Congratulations to Cedevita for the victory. They have played very well in the [last] two months. We lost the game because we had 3 or 4 bad minutes at the end of the second quarter when Cedevita scored lots of shots from good situations. In the second half, we improved our defense but our shooting percentages were bad. With 44% for two-point shots and 26% on three-point shots, it’s very difficult to win the game. We need to improve our percentages.”
