Twenty teams started the 7DAYS EuroCup dreaming of playing in May. Eighteen of them have fallen by the wayside. One two remain – Gran Canaria and Turk Telekom Ankara – and they will duel on Wednesday to become the EuroCup champion and earn a berth in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. The winning team will capture the EuroCup crown for the first time in club history.
Gran Canaria (18-3) vs. Turk Telekom Ankara (16-5)
Gran Canaria had the best record in the regular season and has knocked out Frutti Extra Bursaspor, Paris Basketball and Joventut Badalona – in that order – in the playoffs. Coached by Jaka Lakovic, Granca has one of the deepest teams in the competition with seven players averaging at least 8 points per game, including two players who combined to win the last three EuroCup Rising Star Trophies: Aleksander Balcerowski (2021, 2023) and Khalifa Diop (2022).
