Coach Christopoulos, Promitheas: 'We managed to get the job done'

Promitheas Patras head coach Ioannis Christopoulos:
"That is excatly what it is [being satisfied after the win]. That's the case. That's what you play for, to win basketball games and we played for it. No matter what happened, we remained dedicated to our defensive plan. I think everybody fulfilled his defensive task in a pretty good way, and I think we played intelligent in the crucial moments. Every game is difficult no matter where you play in this competition. Every game will be very important. Every opponent will be strong. For us, it is an important win, we were missing two very important players. Still, we managed to get the job done and that's very good. The players fought very hard.
"We did a good job on both ends of the floor. We initiated our offense with our defense and that was the game. We knew we were facing a strong team with a deep roster and a high level of athleticism. We knew that if we wanted to get the job done, we had to be committed on the defensive end and I think we did a good job there. Offensively, we turned the ball over a lot in the first half. I think that in the second half, we played more team basketball. We shared the ball and took the right decisions. Definitely, it is a game from which you have to learn a lot. You have to learn how to operate in the crucial moments but we deserve a lot of credit and move on to the next one."
Paris Basketball head coach Will Weaver:
"It is a missed opportunity, certainly by our players and by me as well. Our group is getting back together, so it is going to take a while for us to gel, but it has to happen soon because every night is a night in which we have to compete in the leagues we are playing.
"Congratulations to Patras. They came in here short-handed and played extremely hard. I thought our guys brought the energy but we couldn't survive with that shooting night, 18% from three. But it is great to have our full group back and we will get better as we have more time to play together and practice together."
Promitheas Patras guard Anthony Cowan:
"it is definitely a big one for us, especially having two big-time players out. But definitely a big win coming in and staying locked in. I am happy that we were able to bring it out. We hit some shots and I think down the stretch we really guarded. I think that was the big difference for us. When we guard, we are a tough team to beat."
