Germani Brescia grabbed a key win by downing Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana 80-83 in a meeting between Group A’s bottom two teams. Brescia improved to 3-5 after ending a four-game losing run, while Cedevita is now two games adrift at 1-7.

Brescia raced into a double-digit advantage before the end of the first quarter, but a 16-2 run gave Cedevita the lead at the break. The second half was closely contested until Brescia enjoyed the better of the final stages to grab the win. Amadeo Della Valle (19 points) and CJ Massinburg (16) led the winners, while Cedevita’s Edo Muric made 6-of-8 three-pointers in his 23 points and Yogi Ferrell scored 17 in defeat.
Aleksej Nikolic scored 5 early points as Brescia moved ahead, before triples from David Cournooh, Ryan Taylor and Massinburg stretched the lead to 20-29 at the end of the first despite 8 points for Ferrell. Della Valle and Taylor struck from deep, but Muric exploded with 12 points and Amar Alibegovic added 4 to give Cedevita an interval lead, 44-43.

Taylor’s three opened the second half, but 4 more points for Ferrell and another Muric triple made it 53-52. Muric and Ferrell again struck from deep for a 62-60 lead with 10 minutes remaining. Alibegovic scored twice to make it 75-70 midway through the fourth and Muric added another triple. But free throws pulled Brescia closer, Massinburg’s three-pointer sent the visitors ahead, 80-81, inside the last minute and Muric couldn’t force overtime with the last shot.
