Bursaspor, however, did take the tiebreaker, having won the two teams' Round 6 meeting by 15 points.
The London Lions grounded out a tough 76-83 win at Slask Wroclaw after Jordan Taylor and Miye Oni combined for 45 points to lead their team past the Polish side in an evenly balanced encounter on Wednesday. The winners improved to 7-8 in Group B's seventh place, while already-eliminated Slask fell to 1-14.
Veolia Towers Hamburg was compact on defense from start to finish as it grabbed a convincing 91-74 victory over Paris Basketball in Round 15 of the 7DAYS EuroCup on Wednesday night. Group A leader Prometey Slobozhanske extended its winning streak to eight games with a 78-83 road victory at ratiopharm Ulm on Wednesday, denying the hosts a chance to qualify for the 7DAYS EuroCup Playoffs. Prometey improved to 11-4 and has not lost a game in 2023. Ulm dropped to 8-7 and fell into the Group A pack instead of separating itself.
Joventut Badalona grabbed a convincing road win when it defeated Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse 65-86 at the Ekinox on Wednesday evening. The visitors led just by one at halftime, 39-40, but held Bourg to just 26 points in the second half to soar to the victory. Joventut avenged its 80-75 home loss against Bourg earlier this season to improve to 10-5 and continue fighting for first place in Group A. Bourg lost its fourth game in a row and slipped to 8-7.
Umana Reyer Venice booked its place in the playoffs with a resounding 90-64 in an all-Italian clash against Germani Brescia. In the first game with head coach Neven Spahija on the bench, Reyer improved to an 8-7 record in Group B, assuring in the process a top-eight finish. Reyer completed a 2-0 season sweep over Brescia and now has a share of the third-best record in the group. Meanwhile, Brescia dropped to 7-8.
7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys (8-7) punched its ticket into the playoffs from Group A on Wednesday after defeating Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana (3-12) 87-94 to record its fourth straight win. This loss caused Cedevita to say farewell to its 7DAYS EuroCup season, as it could have only stayed alive with a win by at least 6 points against Lietkabelis.
Gran Canaria (12-3), the leader in Group B of the 7DAYS EuroCup, ground out a hard-fought 94-88 home win over Dolomiti Energia Trento (2-13) after the Spanish side overcame a spirited challenge from its Italian opponents. While Granca remains at the top of Group B, Trento stays in ninth and needs a miracle to reach the playoffs.
Turk Telekom's quest to secure home-court advantage in the playoffs was given a boost on Tuesday night after it was able to down Promitheas, securing its third win in a row in the process. The hosts were aided by the efforts of Axel Bouteille, Jerian Grant and Nathan Sestina on offense, as they had 21, 19 and 18 points, respectively. Although Arnoldas Kulbokas had a game-high 23 points, it came in a losing effort.
Buducnost grabbed an important 89-79 victory against Hapoel in Round 15, which brought an end to the visitors’ seven-game winning run. The win saw the hosts improve to 9-6 whereas Hapoel dropped to 10-5. Buducnost secured the head-to-head tiebreaker between the two teams following this result, as it leaned on Erick Green's 21 points off the bench.
