After struggling in the opening quarter, the champs took charge for a road win to remain undefeated.
Gran Canaria routs Turk Telekom 69-82, in finals rematch
Reigning BKT EuroCup champion Dreamland Gran Canaria took control in the second quarter and dominated the second half to defeat Turk Telekom Ankara 69-82 at Ankara Sports Salonu on Wednesday. In a rematch of last season's championship game, Gran Canaria came out flat and trailed 24-15 after 10 minutes, but once it got going there was no stopping the visitors.
Sylven Landesberg came off the bench to score 20 points in 19 minutes to lead Gran Canaria against his former team. Nicolas Brussino added 8 points and 7 assists for the victors. The win was Gran Canaria's 14th in a row in the EuroCup and improved its record to 6-0 this season.
Turk Telekom suffered its fourth consecutive loss and dropped to 1-4 on the season. Jalen Adams led the hosts with 15 points, Steven Enoch posted 14 points and 11 rebounds and Tyrone Wallace and Markis McDuffie netted 12 points apiece.
Ulubay's shooting sparks Turk Telekom
The hosts used an early timeout after Ethan Happ scored inside twice to give Gran Canaria a 2-4 lead. Turk Telekom regrouped through Adams from deep and Enoch with a three-point play to lead 8-7. The teams traded shots and it was even, 11-11, after 5 minutes thanks to Andrew Albicy free throws. Okben Ulubay heated up from deep and his third triple of the quarter pushed the hosts to a 20-15 lead. McDuffie added to the lead with a put-back and Wallace beat the buzzer for a 24-15 cushion after 10 minutes.
Landesberg fuels Gran Canaria comeback
Landesberg drilled a three for Gran Canaria on the first possession of the second quarter. He added a jumper before a Ferran Bassas triple drew the visitors within 30-27 midway through the quarter. Landesberg remained locked in with a pair of free throws and a three to tie the game at 32-32. His 12th point of the quarter, via Albicy’s steal, completed the comeback at 36-38. A three by Adams kept it close, 42-43, at the break.

Brussino buried a three to cap a 0-7 Gran Canaria run to open the second half. Adams connected from deep to make it 48-53 midway through the third quarter. Albicy and Ben Lammers teamed up to extend the margin to 9. Enoch helped the host reduce the deficit to 53-60 with 10 minutes remaining.
Landesberg extended the margin to double figures with his third triple of the game. Turk Telekom chipped away at the deficit, but Pierre Pelos answered back with a three. Pelos added a three-point play and Miquel Salvo a layup as Gran Canaria continued to pad the lead. A three by Salvo silenced the crowd at 59-76. Turk Telekom did not throw in the towel and fought to within 67-78, but the outcome was never in doubt.
