Schoormann made his professional debut for Fraport Skyliners as a 17-year-old in the 2019-20 season, and it didn’t take long for him to carve out a place in the rotation. During last season, he stood out for a struggling Fraport Skyliners side and has recently been called up by the German national team.
"It will be a new start for me, because for the first time I won't be in my familiar surroundings, at home or with my friends," Schoormann told Hamburg's website. "That said, I'm really looking forward to coming to the city of Hamburg and getting to know the new team and the coaching staff. I want to learn a lot, develop myself individually and earn a permanent spot in the pro team."
