Bourg beats an undermanned Slask, 63-72
Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse extended its winning streak to four games after beating Slask Wroclaw 63-72 at Hala Orbita in Round 10 of the 2023-24 BKT EuroCup season. The visitors were in control of the game from start to finish against a Slask side that took to the court without star players Kendale McCullum and Jakub Niziol. Bourg improved to an 8-2 record, while Slask dropped to 2-8.
Isiaha Mike paced the winning side with 16 points and Jeremy Morgan added 12. As for the hosts, Dusan Miletic scored a game-high 20 points, while Hassani Gravett netted 14.
Bourg took control early
Miletic opened the scoring with a reverse layup, but Bourg went on a 0-11 run to take an early 9-point lead. Daniel Golebiowski sank a corner three to end the guests’ momentum and bring Slask within 5-11. Bryce Brown knocked one down from behind the arc and Zaccharie Risacher scored his first points of the night to give Bourg a 7-16 cushion. Slask responded with a 9-2 run, but Bourg managed to take a 16-20 lead into the second quarter.
The visitors kept the hosts at bay
Morgan hit the ground running in the second quarter, drilling back-to-back triples to make it 18-26. Artsiom Parakhouski and Bodian Massa exchanged baskets before Maksim Salash made a three-pointer for a double-digit Bourg lead, 20-31. Jamonda Bryant completed a three-point play but Kevin Kokila hit 2 free throws at the other end, 25-35. Gravett sank his second triple of the night, but Risacher responded with a long-range jump shot to make it 28-37. Brown knocked down a transition three before netting a jumper to take his tally to 8 first-half points.

Slask couldn't make things tough for Bourg
Bourg was up 33-42 heading into the second half. Miletic and Mike exchanged triples, with the latter also scoring a tough basket for a 36-49 Bourg lead. A Gravett triple was followed by a Miletic dunk to bring Slask within 41-51. Andrii Voinalovych netted a triple, but Mike scored a bucket from beyond the arc to restore Bourg’s double-digit lead, 44-54. Then, Godwin Omenaka scored back-to-back buckets for a 48-58 Bourg cushion.
Bourg saw the win over the line
Salash drew an unsportsmanlike foul and hit both free throws for a Bourg 48-60 lead early in the closing quarter. Then, Morgan completed a three-point play before hitting a triple for a 50-66 Bourg cushion midway through the fourth. The visitors stayed in cruise control in the remaining 5 minutes, despite a 7-0 Slask run, as they sealed their fourth consecutive victory.
