The fan favorite was the Europe Cup Final MVP in 2024 when he led NINERS to the crown
Kaza Kajami-Keane returns to NINERS Chemnitz

NINERS Chemnitz has welcomed back a fan favorite and proven leader with the signing of Kaza Kajami-Keane, who returns to the club after spending last season with Serbian side Spartak Subotica.
Kajami-Keane (1.85 meters, 31 years old) played a pivotal role in Chemnitz’s historic 2023–24 campaign, guiding the club to its first-ever European title. He earned Finals MVP honors in the FIBA Europe Cup after scoring 40 points across the two-game series against Bahcesehir College Istanbul and leading the “Orange Army” to glory.
In his previous stint with the NINERS, Kajami-Keane averaged 11.5 points and 5.5 assists in the German League and elevated his play in the postseason. He posted 15.2 points and 5.7 assists per game during the FIBA Europe Cup knockout rounds and proved his ability to perform under pressure. Last season he averaged 9.5 points and 3.4 assists over 25 games in the ABA League with Spartak.
“Kaza is one of those players who elevates his game when it matters most,” said head coach Rodrigo Pastore. “He’s a floor general, a leader, and someone who brings balance at both ends of the court. His presence will be key in helping us shape a strong identity.”
The Canadian international played college basketball at Illinois State and Cleveland State before returning home to play his final two seasons at Carleton University. He also started his professional career in Canada with Raptors 905 in the G League. Kajami-Keane struck gold in his first season in Europe, leading Landseted Zwolle to the Dutch League crown as the Playoffs MVP. He has since played for Syntainics MBC in Germany, Le Mans in France, and Spartak in Serbia.
“The decision to return to Chemnitz and play in front of our amazing fans with great teammates and coaches was easy,” Kajami-Keane shared. “I’m excited to help build something special again. If we stay smart, tough, and play as one, we can make our fans, the club, and ourselves proud.”
