### Round 2: Home opener

The first home game of the season is always special for any team, and that will no doubt be the case for Hamburg when it welcomes Turk Telekom Ankara to the [edel-optics.de](http://edel-optics.de) Arena. Even though there are many new faces on both teams, nothing changes the fact that these two teams met last season, with Hamburg and Turk Telekom recording a 20-point-plus win apiece. Turk Telekom will be a tough cookie to break, making this home debut for Hamburg even more interesting.

### Round 3: Can Meisner get it done again?

Slask Wroclaw is one of three opponents that Hamburg faces for the second consecutive season in the EuroCup. Last year, Hamburg suffered an 87-71 road loss against Slask before pulling out a 92-86 home win, with Slask big man Aleksander Dziewa starring in both games. While Hamburg must look to contain Dwiewa this time around, it will hope its own forward, Lukas Meisner, can use some of his own magic. Meisner had a career game in the home win over Slask, earning MVP of the Round honors, and he will be keen to put on a repeat performance.

Lukas Meisner became Hamburg Towers' third MVP of the round this season when he claimed the honor for Round 15. Meisner led Hamburg to a 92-86 home victory against Slask Wroclaw with career-highs of 23 points, 12 rebounds and a PIR of 29.

### Round 10: First game of 2023

Hamburg plays home games in back-to-back weeks on two occasions this season – first in Rounds 2 and 3, and again in Rounds 9 and 10. In the latter, Hamburg will host Buducnost VOLI Podgorica. This is not only the first game of the new calendar year, but it also marks the beginning of the second half of the regular season. In addition, Hamburg will only have three home games remaining after this one. For all the reasons above, this will be an important game for Hamburg against a tough opponent.

### Round 17: The visit of Trento

Last season saw Hamburg do the double over Dolomiti Energia Trento, and make no mistake that Trento head coach Emanuele Molin will be out to exact revenge in 2022-23. In addition, this Round 17 matchup could have a huge impact on the playoff picture, as there are likely to be high stakes at play. It will also be Hamburg's final home game of the regular season, so everything indicates that it is a game that should not be missed.

Just one solitary success has left Trento playing for pride during a troubled European adventure. They visit a progressing Hamburg team out to build on an important triumph over Slask.

Prometey Slobozhanske has reached an agreement with [DJ Kennedy](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/dj-kennedy/005301/) to return to the club for the upcoming season. Kennedy (1.98 meters, 32 years old) spent the majority of last season with Prometey, but due to the situation in Ukraine, he saw out the campaign with Hapoel Galil Elyon of Israel. Whilst playing for Prometey in 2021-22, he averaged 13.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 20 Ukrainian League matches. He also recorded averages of 12.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 11 Basketball Champions League games for Prometey.

Kennedy already has experience of playing in the 7DAYS EuroCup from his time at BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque of France and Krasny Oktyabr of Russia during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons, respectively. However, he only played a combined seven times, during which time he averaged 13.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

 

After spending four years at St. John's University, Kennedy has gone on to play for 14 clubs during his 11-year professional career: Erie BayHawks and Rio Grande of the G League; Cleveland of the NBA; BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque of France; Hapoel Holon of Israel; Krasny Oktyabr and Enisey of Russia; Riesen Ludwigsburg of Germany; Guangzhou of China; Pınar Karsiyaka of Turkey; Melbourne of Australia; Reyer Venezia of Italy; and then Prometey and Hapoel Galil Elyon last season.

Della Valle (1.93 meters, 29 years old) ranked second in the Italian League in scoring with 18.0 points along with 3.8 assists per game last season, his first with Brescia. Before that, Della Valle played four-plus seasons for Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia and was an All-EuroCup First Team selection in 2018. That season, he ranked second in the 7DAYS EuroCup in scoring (17.5 ppg.) and performance index rating (20.2 per game).

Della Valle started his career at Casale Monferrato before moving to the United States for three years, playing for Findlay Prep High School and Ohio State University before joining Reggio Emilia in 2014. Della Valle helped Reggio Emilia win the FIBA EuroChallenge title in 2014 and reach consecutive Italian League finals in 2015 and 2016. He split the 2020-21 season between Gran Canaria of Spain and Buducnost VOLI Podgorica of Montenegro. Della Valle also played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague where he spent two years and made a total of 33 appearances with AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan. In the 2019-20 season, the latter of his two campaigns in the competition, he posted 5.9 points on 50.0% three-point shooting. Della Valle has been a regular on the Italian national team, too.

Wallace (1.96 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Long Island of the G League, where he averaged 20.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 20 games last season. He also played for New Orleans of the NBA during the 2021-22 campaign, averaging 2.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 6 games.

Wallace started his professional basketball career with Salt Lake City of the G League in 2016, and has also played for Los Angeles Clippers and Atlanta of the NBA, as well as for Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario and College Park of the D League. He is set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with Paris in the upcoming 2022-23 season. 

### Round 1: Quarterfinals rematch

Stozice Arena was packed last April for the arrival of Bursaspor in the EuroCup Quarterfinals, but it was Cedevita's fans that went home heartbroken. The home crowd celebrated euphorically as Jacob Pullen scored a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer, but an official review ruled that the shot came after the final buzzer sounded, so Bursaspor prevailed 83-85. Cedevita goes into the new season with lofty ambitions and with the majority of its core from last season intact, although one player who has departed is Zach Auguste, who will be suiting up for Bursaspor in this season opener.

### Round 3: Iron sharpens iron

Two of the favorites to advance from Group A meet in Round 3, as Cedevita hosts Joventut Badalona in what is an early test for both teams. Cedevita will want to get the season off to a good start, and a positive result would be a valuable confidence builder for coach Jurica Golemac's team. Both teams remain mostly unchanged from last season, when Cedevita had one of the EuroCup's best offenses and Joventut had the EuroCup's top defense. It should be a good one in the Slovenian capital.

### Round 9: Annual trip to Bourg-en-Bresse

This will be the third straight season that Cedevita and Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse have faced off. Cedevita won on the road against Bourg in 2020-21, but when it travelled to play there in January 2022, it suffered its last regular-season loss. Despite a season-high 24 points from Yogi Ferrell, Cedevita scored just 69 points on that night, with veteran center Alen Omic going scoreless against his former team. Omic will surely be eager to do better this time, as Cedevita aims to record a victory in its last game of the calendar year.

### Round 16: Repeating heroics against Ulm

Last season, one of Cedevita's best road wins came in a shootout at ratiopharm arena, as Cedevita beat ratiopharm Ulm 96-104. Zoran Dragic had 20 points against his former team, including back-to-back crunch-time three-pointers, while Edo Muric added 13 and Ferrell finished with 10 points and 7 assists. It was Cedevita's second straight victory during what ended up being a seven-game winning streak to end the regular season, and Coach Golemac will be hoping for a similar sort of performance when they meet again in March 2023.

Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana showed its full potential in the second half of the last 7DAYS EuroCup season, winning eight straight games to end the regular season. In the playoffs, it advanced past Turk Telekom Ankara in the eighthfinals before surprisingly being knocked out at the quarterfinal stage by Frutti Extra Bursaspor. Ahead of the new season, and with expectations high in the Slovenian capital, here are four Cedevita games to circle in the calendar.

Gran Canaria has re-signed veteran center [Oliver Stevic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/oliver-stevic/000564/) to a one-year deal, the club announced on Tuesday. Stevic (2.05 meters, 38 years old) joined Granca during the 2020-21 season, and last year he averaged 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 13 appearances in the 7DAYS EuroCup.

Stevic is heading into his 11th EuroCup season, having first made his debut in the competition back in the 2007-08 campaign with Slask Wroclaw of Poland. He has also played in the EuroCup for Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade of Serbia, EWE Baskets Oldenburg of Germany, Stelmet Zielona Gora of Poland, and MoraBanc Andorra and Joventut Badalona of Spain. In total, Stevic has played 102 games in the EuroCup, with his averages standing at 7.1 points and 4.6 rebounds. In 2019, he was part of the Andorra team that reached the semifinals. He also played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Bilbao Basket of Spain in 2011-12.

Stevic started his career with FMP Zeleznik of his native Serbia and, aside from the aforementioned EuroCup clubs, he has also played for Borac Cacak and Masinac Kraljevo of Serbia, Anwil Wloclawek of Poland, Bilbao Basket, Fuenlabrada and San Pablo Burgos of Spain, Royal Hali Gaziantep of Turkey, Novipiu Casale Monferrato of Italy and Igokea of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Gran Canaria inks Stevic for another season

Dolomiti Energia Trento added some veteran experience to its frontline by signings forward Darion Atkins to a one-year deal, the club announced on Tuesday. Atkins (2.03 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Chemnitz in Germany where he posted 11.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists in league action last season. 

Atkins started his career with Westchester in D-League before moving over to Europe where he first played with Hapoel Holon in Israel. He went on to play with Strasbourg in France, Tenerife in Spain, Bamberg in Germany, AEK Athens in Greece and Belediye Spor in Turkey, before his one-year stint with Chemnitz. Atkins is now set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut.

Trento bolsters frontcourt with Atkins

After nine seasons together, Buducnost VOLI Podgorica and [Suad Sehovic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/suad-sehovic/000202/) came to terms on a deal that will extend their partnership for another season, the club announced Tuesday. Sehovic (1.97 meters, 35 years old) appeared in six 7DAYS EuroCup games averaging 11:30 minutes per game, grabbing 2.2 rebounds per game. It was his 10th season in the competition, ninth with Buducnost after making his debut in 2007 with Bosna Sarajevo. He was one of the players who took part in the five-overtime EuroCup classic between ALBA Berlin and Bosna on December 4, 2007, which remains the longest game in European club basketball history.

In his time with Buducnost, Sehovic has helped the team win seven Montenegrin League championships and all nine Montenegrin Cups plus the Adriatic League trophy in 2018. Sehovic started his professional basketball career with Bosna of Bosnia and Herzegovina and also played for Budivelnik Kiev and Khimki of Ukraine before joining Buducnost in 2013. Sehovic helped Bosna win three consecutive Bosnian League titles from 2006 to 2008, lifted the Ukrainian League trophy with Budivelnik in 2012. He has also been a member of the Montenegrin national team.

Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana has finalized an agreement to sign [Marko Jeremic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/marko-jeremic/010551/), the club announced on Tuesday. Jeremic (1.92 meters, 30 years old) joins from KK Mornar Bar of Montenegro, where he averaged 10.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in the ABA League last season. He played in the 7DAYS EuroCup with Mornar in the 2020-21 campaign, recording averages of 6.4 points and 1.1 rebounds off the bench in 16 appearances.

Jeremic spent the first three years of his professional career with Vojvodina of his native Serbia before joining Mladost Mrkonjic Grad of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2015. One year later, he returned to Serbia to play for Napredak Krusevac. Jeremic suited up for FMP of Serbia between 2017 and 2020, but in the summer of 2020, he moved to Mornar.
