Prometey Slobozhanske bolstered its frontcourt by signing a former All-EuroCup center [Ondrej Balvin](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/ondrej-balvin/002644/) for its upcoming 7DAYS EuroCup debut, the club announced Tuesday. Balvin (2.17 meters, 29 years old) spent last season in Japan with Gunma CT, where he posted 10.7 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. He now returns to the EuroCup where he last played in the 2017-18 campaign with Gran Canaria, helping the team reach the quarterfinals while earning All-EuroCup Second Team honors posting 10.6 points and 7.3 rebounds.

The following season with Gran Canaria e made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut, then spent two seasons with Bilbao Basket, also in Spain. Before that, Balvin played six seasons for Baloncesto Seville, where he played for six seasons, including in 2011 when they reached the EuroCup title game. With Seville, Balvin authored a 19-rebound game in Prague against CEZ Basketball Nymburk of his native Czech Republic, which stands as the third-best single-game rebounding effort in competition history. He also split the 2016-17 season between FC Bayern Munich in Germany and Estudiantes in Spain. Early in his career, Balvin has played for USK Prague, and been a member of the Czech national team for more than a decade.

Veolia Hamburg Towers has confirmed that captain [Seth Hinrichs](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/seth-hinrichs/009663/) has extended his contract at the club for a further two years, so he is now tied to the club until 2024. Hinrichs (2.01 meters, 29 years old) played in 17 7DAYS EuroCup matches for Hamburg last season, averaging 5.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals.

Hinrichs is entering his third season in the EuroCup, having also played for ratiopharm Ulm in the competition during the 2019-20 campaign. That season, he recorded averages of 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists. After spending four years at Lafayette College, he began his professional career with FC Porto of Portugal in 2015. Since then, he has gone on to play for VfL Kirchheim Knights and SC Rasta Vechta of Germany, as well as Ulm, Manresa Basquet of Spain and, since the summer of 2021, Hamburg.

The teams of the 7DAYS EuroCup continue to work hard to build strong squads for the 2022-23 season. Here are some of the most-important signings from the past week.

### Reyer unveiled electric backcourt

Umana Reyer Venice added two very valuable pieces to its perimeter. First, Reyer signed point guard [Marco Spissu](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/reyer-lands-playmaker-spissu/) to a multi-year deal. Spissu ranked second in three-point shooting (52.9% 3FG, 17-of-51) in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague last season, playing for UNICS Kazan. He is now set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut. Reyer also added scoring ace [Allerik Freeman](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/reyer-inks-guard-freeman/), one of the biggest stars in the 2021-22 EuroCup. He averaged 9.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in nine games for Frutti Extra Bursaspor before leaving to join CSKA Moscow. Expect both to be among Reyer's main pillars.

### Ulm added fresh faces

As always, ratiopharm Ulm surprised fans and experts alike by signing a couple of newcomers at this level of continental basketball. Ulm found a new point guard in [Yago Mateus Dos Santos](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/ulm-adds-point-guard-dos-santos/), who inked a two-year deal in what will be his first experience outside of Brazil. Dos Santos arrives from Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, where he averaged 12.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 41 Brazilian League games last season and lifted the Intercontinental Cup title. Ulm also got stronger inside with the addition of physical power forward [Sagaba Konate](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/ulm-signs-power-forward-konate/) on a two-year contract. Konate averaged 8.7 points and 5.9 rebounds in 29 Italian League games for Pallacanestro Trieste.

### Joventut brought in firepower

Aware that putting the ball in the basket is the biggest goal in basketball, Joventut Badalona signed two great shooters last week. Versatile forward [William Howard](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/joventut-signs-forward-howard/), who ranks fifth all-time in three-point shooting in the EuroLeague (48.2%, 53-of-110), arrives from LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on a one-year deal. Joventut also signed shooting guard [Kyle Guy](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/joventut-adds-shooting-ace-guy/), who played for three teams –Miami of the NBA, as well as Cleveland and Sioux Falls of the G League - in the 2021-22 season. Guy averaged 23.1 points in 14 G League games with Cleveland and is heading into his first EuroCup experience.

### Hapoel inks Munford, keeps Young

Hapoel Tel Aviv kept one of its most experienced players and added a well-rounded guard who should have a key role next season. Swingman [James Young](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/hapoel-young-stay-together/) averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and a PIR of 17.0 in 26 Israeli League games with Hapoel and knows a thing or two about do-or-die games, having led University of Kentucky in scoring at the Final Four of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Hapoel also landed [Xavier Munford](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/news/hapoel-inks-scoring-guard-munford/), who last played with South East Melbourne in Australia and previously was in the EuroLeague with FC Barcelona.

Four other teams made two moves each this week. The week in EuroCup signings

Germani Brescia announced Monday that team captain [David Moss](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/david-moss/002852/) will stay with the team for the seventh consecutive season. Moss (1.96 meters, 38 years old) has been Brescia team captain since November of 2016, just few months after joining the team, and since then has turned into one of the biggest club legends. His impact on the team goes far beyond his numbers, and last season he averaged 4.1 points and 2.2 rebounds in Italian League action.

"It was right and wise to cling to the experience of a player like David, who manages to be a leader through example and the constant desire to train and compete", said Brescia head coach Alessandro Magro.

A defensive ace throughout his career, Moss was with Brescia in each of its previous three 7DAYS EuroCup campaign, and in 35 appearances he has averaged 5.2 points and 2.6 rebounds. Before Brescia, he played five consecutive seasons and 88 games in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, first three with Montepaschi Siena and two with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. Earlier in his career he also played with Swiecie in Poland, Jesi, Tereamo and Fortitudo in Italy.

Young (1.88 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Birmingham of the G League, where he averaged 18.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 46 games last season. His father, Michael Young, is considered one of the best scorers ever in European basketball and led Limoges CSP to the EuroLeague title in 1993.

Young started his professional career with Indiana of the NBA and also played for Fort Wayne of the G League, as well as Nanjing Tongxi Monkey Kings and Beijing Royal Fighters of China. He led the 2019-20 Chinese League in scoring, averaging 38.3 points in 44 games with Nanjing, adding 4.7 rebounds, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 steals. He is set to test his scoring skills in the 7DAYS EuroCup for the first time.

Lietkabelis Panevezys addes size and experience to its frontcourt by inking power foward Zeljko Sakic, the club announced Sunday. Sakic (2.04 meters, 34 years old) arrives from UNICS Kazan, where he averaged 5.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 13 VTB League games last season. He started the 2021-22 campaign with another Russian team, Avtodor Saratov, averaging 8.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in 15 VTB League games before joining UNICS in April. Sakic already played for Lietkabelis in the 2019-20 season, averaging 13.6 ponts and 6.5 rebounds in 24 Lithuanian League games. He is set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with Lietkabelis in the upcoming 2022-23 campaign.

Sakic started his career with Kaptol Zagreb and Dugrava Zagreb of his native Croatia, and also played for Zrinjski Mik Company Mostar and HKK Siroki of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sutor Montegranaro of Italy, Basquet Manresa and Movistar Estudiantes of Spain, Lukoil Academic Sofia of Bulgaria, Cibona Zagreb also of Croatia, U-BT Cluj-Napoca of Romania, and Stelmet Enea Zielona Gora of Poland. He helped Siroki win back-to-back Bosnan League titles in 2011 and 2012, lifting the Bosnian Cup trophy in 2012. Sakic also won the Bulgarian League title with Lukoil in 2016 and lifted the Romanian Cup trophy with Cluj in 2018, and has also been a member of the Croatian national team.

Turk Telekom Ankara bolstered its frontcourt by adding center Tyrique Jones, the club announced Saturday. Jones (2.06 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro, where he averaged 13.1 points on 65.8% two-point shooting in 33 Italian League last season, leading the competition in rebounds at 9.7 per night. He is set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with Turk Telekom in the upcoming 2022-23 campaign.

Jones comes off his second season as a professional basketball player. Before that, Jones started the 2020-21 campaign with DB Promy of South Korea, moving to Hapoel Tel Aviv in November 2020. He averaged 13.1 points on 67.2% two-point shooting, 7.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 16 Israeli League games that season. Before that, he completed his four-year college career with Xavier University, averaging 13.9 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 31 games in the 2019-20 season. 

Gran Canaria has completed the signing of [Damien Inglis](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/damien-inglis/003960/) for the upcoming season, the club confirmed on Saturday. Inglis (2.04 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Bilbao Basket, where he averaged 11.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 24 Spanish League matches last season. He has two years of experience in the 7DAYS EuroCup from his days at Limoges CSP and AS Monaco of his native France. Inglis was part of the Monaco side that won the EuroCup in 2021.

Inglis posted averages of 5.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists across his 36 games with Limoges and Monaco in the EuroCup, which came in the 2018-19 and 2020-21 seasons, respectively. Inglis has also played for Centre Federal, Chorale Roanne, SIG Strasbourg in his native France, as well as Milwaukee of the NBA, Canton and Westchester of the G League, Orlandina Basket of Italy. He represented France at youth level, too.

Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana has confirmed that Karlo Matkovic will be a part of the team next season. Matkovic (2.07 meters, 21 years old) has spent the last three years away from Cedevita on loan, playing for OKK Beograd of Serbia in 2019-20 before going on to suit up for Mega Basket of Serbia in each of the last two seasons. In 2021-22, he averaged 11.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocks in 25 games for Mega in the ABA League.

Matkovic, who was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, began his professional career with Cedevita in the 2018-19 season, as he made five appearances prior to going out on loan in the summer of 2019. He represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at youth level, but in February 2022 he made his debut for the Croatian national team. In the 2022 NBA Draft, Matkovic was selected by New Orleans with the 52nd overall pick, but it decided that he would remain in Europe to continue his development.
