Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana has confirmed that Karlo Matkovic will be a part of the team next season. Matkovic (2.07 meters, 21 years old) has spent the last three years away from Cedevita on loan, playing for OKK Beograd of Serbia in 2019-20 before going on to suit up for Mega Basket of Serbia in each of the last two seasons. In 2021-22, he averaged 11.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocks in 25 games for Mega in the ABA League.

Matkovic, who was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, began his professional career with Cedevita in the 2018-19 season, as he made five appearances prior to going out on loan in the summer of 2019. He represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at youth level, but in February 2022 he made his debut for the Croatian national team. In the 2022 NBA Draft, Matkovic was selected by New Orleans with the 52nd overall pick, but it decided that he would remain in Europe to continue his development.

Cedevita adds Matkovic to the mix

London Lions continue preparing for their upcoming 7DAYS EuroCup debut by signing veteran forward [Vojtech Hruban](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/vojtech-hruban/lfc/), the club announced Friday. Hruban (2.00 meters, 31 years old) returns to the EuroCup for the first time since 2015. He has played 45 games over three seasons in the competition, all with Nymburk of his native Czech Republic, and averaged 6.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

Hruban has spent the last 10 years with Nymburk, and has helped the club win nine Czech League and seven Czech Cup titles. Last season Nymburk won the domestic league title, and Hruban averaged 15.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals. He also posted 13.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals in the Basketball Champions League

Hruban previously played for USK Prague as a teenager before arriving to Nymburk. Also, for more than a decade, he has been a regular member of the Czech national team.

London inks veteran forward Hruban

Ulm has added size and power to its frontcourt by inking power forward Sagaba Konate to a two-year deal, the club announced on Friday. Konate (2.03 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Allianz Pallacanestro Trieste, where he averaged 8.7 points and 5.9 rebounds in 29 Italian League games last season. He started his professional career with the Raptors 905 of the G League, and he also played for Casademont Zaragoza of Spain and PAOK Thessaloniki of Greece before joining Trieste. Konate, who is set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut this season, is also a member of Mali's national team.

"Big men have to do a lot in basketball: run the court from baseline to baseline, set screens, block shots, rebound and then, of course, score points themselves. Sagaba has impressive qualities for all of that," said Ulm sports director Thorsten Leibenath. "On the other hand, he is still young and his best basketball years are yet to come. However, he has already proven that he can put his stamp on games."

Ulm signs power forward Konate

Paris Basketball has announced that Will Weaver is set to coach the team next season. Weaver, 38, was most recently an assistant coach for Houston of the NBA, where he worked for two years. He replaces Jean-Christophe Prat, who was Paris's coach for the last four seasons. Weaver previously coached Long Island of the G League and Sydney Kings of Australia, as well as working as assistant coach for the University of Texas at Austin, the Sam Houston State University, Philadelphia and Brooklyn of the NBA, and the Australian national team. He was chosen as G League Coach of the Year in 2019 whilst working for Long Island.

Joventut Badalona has secured the arrival of shooting guard Kyle Guy for the upcoming season, the club announced on Friday. Guy (1.88 meters, 24 years old) spent the 2021-22 campaign playing for Miami of the NBA, as well as Cleveland and Sioux Falls of the G League. He is set to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut in 2022-23.

After starring at the University of Virginia and becoming an NCAA champion in 2019, Guy went on to play for Sacramento, Cleveland and Miami of the NBA, in addition to Stockton, Cleveland and Sioux Falls of the G League. He averaged 3.9 points on 35% shooting from three-point range in 19 NBA games for Miami last season, while with Cleveland he averaged 23.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 14 G League matches. In six games for Sioux Falls in the G League, he averaged 15.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

Joventut adds shooting ace Guy

Promitheas Patras has bolstered its frontcourt by signing center Dimitris Kaklamanakis to a one-year deal, the club announced on Friday. Kaklamanakis (2.06 meters, 28 years old) arrives from GS Lavrio Aegean Cargo, where he averaged 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 23 Greek League games last season, his second stint with the club after previously playing there from 2015 to 2019.

Kaklamanakis played for Olympiacos Piraeus's junior team and started his professional basketball career with Peristeri GS Athens. He has also played for Ilysiakos Athens, AEK Athens and PAOK Thessaloniki. He has been a member of the Greek national and is expected to make his 7DAYS EuroCup debut with Promitheas next season.

Promitheas adds size with Kaklamanakis

Hapoel Tel Aviv and swingman James Young have agreed to keep working together for another season, the club announced on Friday. Young (1.98 meters, 26 years old) averaged 16.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and a PIR of 17.0 in 26 Israeli League games with Hapoel last season. He helped his team reach the Israeli Cup final and the Israeli League playoffs. Young joined Hapoel in March 2021 and had previously played for another Israeli team, Maccabi Hunter Haifa. He led the 2019-20 Israeli League in scoring, averaging 20.5 points in 19 games with Haifa.

"The effort of our management to create stability and continuation from last season is much appreciated", head coach Danny Franco saod. "We have big challenges ahead and I'm convinced that James' talent is worth a chance in the EuroCup."

Young has spent the rest of his career in the United States, starting with Boston of the NBA before going on to represent Maine, Delaware and Wisconsin of the G League, as well as Philadelphia of the NBA. Before that, he played for the University of Kentucky in the 2013-14 campaign, taking it to the NCAA Tournament championship game. Young had 17 points in the semifinals against Wisconsin and 20 in the championship game against Connecticut. He was chosen to the All-Final Four tournament team.

The 2022-23 7DAYS EuroCup welcomes some new teams to the competition, with one of those being Prometey Slobozhanske of Ukraine, which is in Group A. 

2022-23 Games to Watch: Prometey Slobozhanske

### Round 1: Welcome to the EuroCup!

Given everything that has happened in Ukraine in the last five months, Prometey will be determined to get off to a good start when it hosts Lietkabelis Panevezys on October 12. When basketball came to a halt in Ukraine, Prometey found itself top of the Ukrainian League with a record of 25-1. Should Prometey get off to a 1-0 start, this is likely to provide a boost in morale for the club's fans back in Ukraine.

### Round 4: A tough test

Prometey travels on the road for the first time in Round 2, but in Round 4 it will fly to Spain to take on one of the EuroCup favorites in Joventut Badalona. The 2021-22 campaign saw Joventut maintain an unbeaten record on its home court during the regular season, but Prometey will be eyeing a shock result at Palau Olimpic de Badalona. After all, all the pressure will be on the hosts.

### Round 12: Facing some pitbulls

Frutti Extra Bursaspor reached last season's EuroCup Championship Game, losing 101-83 to Virtus Segafredo Bologna, so Prometey can expect a tough match in Turkey. One of the keys to Bursaspor's success last season was its pitbull-like attitude, as recognized by then-forward John Holland, and Prometey will be looking to replicate a similar mentality in the 2022-23 campaign. These two first meet in Riga in Round 3, so there will be the chance for one team to exact revenge, too.

### Round 17: A budding rivalry

The penultimate round of the EuroCup season sees Prometey travel to Romania to take on U-BT Cluj-Napoca in what could be a feisty encounter. These two met in the Basketball Champions League last season, with Cluj winning 92-81, so they will be able to continue their growing rivalry in the EuroCup. Another factor that should add some spice to the occasion is the return of Dustin Hogue to BTarena, following his move from Cluj-Napoca to Prometey this summer. A fan favorite with Cluj-Napoca fans, he will surely be in for a warm welcome.

The 2022-23 7DAYS EuroCup welcomes some new teams to the competition, with one of those being Prometey Slobozhanske of Ukraine, which is in Group A. It will take part in its debut season in the EuroCup away from Ukraine, however, as it will be based in Riga, Latvia, due to the ongoing situation in the country. Ahead of the new campaign, here are four noteworthy games for Prometey fans to circle in the calendar.

Buducnost VOLI Podgorica added much-needed athleticism to its roster by bringing back forward [Aleksa Ilic](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/eurocup/players/aleksa-ilic/006561/) for the upcoming season, the club announced Thursday. Ilic (2.04 meters, 25 years old) has spent last season with city rival SC Derby where he got back to playing basketball after being sidelined for almost two years due to an injury. Ilic averaged 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in nine Adriatic League appearances.

Ilic has previously been with Buducnost between 2015 and 2021, after joining the club from his hometown Sutjeska Niksic, where he started his professional career as a teenager. Over that time he helped Buducnost win the 2018 Adriatic League crown as well as three Montenegrin League and four Cup titles. Ilic has also played in 31 games in the 7DAYS EuroCup over four seasons, with career averages of 3.1 points and 3.1 rebounds. He has also been a regular member of the Montenegrin national team.
