Paris Basketball has completed a deal to sign Leon Kratzer, who has followed fellow center Michael Kessens and head coach Tuomas Iisalo in making the move from Telekom Baskets Bonn to the French capital. Kratzer (2.12 meters, 26 years old) became a Basketball Champions League winner with Bonn last season, averaging 5.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 17 appearances en route to the title.
He does have experience of playing in the BKT EuroCup, albeit minimal, as he appeared in three games for Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt in the 2018-19 campaign, when he posted 8.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.0 steal and a 13.0 PIR. Kratzer, who has featured for the German national team, leaves his country for the first time in his career as he embarks upon a new journey with Paris. Following three seasons with Bonn, the last two of which saw Kratzer play under Coach Iisalo, he will hope to adapt quickly to life in France as Paris looks to build on last year's quarterfinal finish.
