Paris Basketball added more youth and athleticism we are used to seeing from the team by signing power forward Enzo Shahrvin to a deal three-year deal, the club announced Monday. Shahrvin (2.01 meters, 20 years old) arrives from a fellow French League side Pau-Lacq-Orthez, club where he grew up.
Shahrvin made his professional debut with Orthez in 2021-22 season, then played his first full season in 2022-23. In 32 appearances in the French League, he posted 4.8 points and 4.0 rebounds.
Last summer, Shahrvin played for France at the U20 European Championship where he ranked second with 2.1 blocks per game. He is now set to make his BKT EuroCup debut, and help Paris in trying to better its result of reaching the quarterfinals as a newcomer in the 2022-23 campaign.
"Enzo is destined for a brilliant future," said Paris head coach Tuomas Iisalo. "He is a unique player: the mixture of speed and physical power is very rare. He already showed last season that he contributes to the game with an effective finish, his protection of the basket as well as his qualities as a rebounder. And I also like how he sees the game as a passer. It is all these qualities that make it a perfect fit for our project. Enzo's arrival also suits the club's DNA of finding young talent and helping them develop."
