Prometey Slobozhanske bolstered its frontcourt by signing a former All-EuroCup center Ondrej Balvin for its upcoming 7DAYS EuroCup debut, the club announced Tuesday. Balvin (2.17 meters, 29 years old) spent last season in Japan with Gunma CT, where he posted 10.7 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. He now returns to the EuroCup where he last played in the 2017-18 campaign with Gran Canaria, helping the team reach the quarterfinals while earning All-EuroCup Second Team honors posting 10.6 points and 7.3 rebounds.

The following season with Gran Canaria e made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut, then spent two seasons with Bilbao Basket, also in Spain. Before that, Balvin played six seasons for Baloncesto Seville, where he played for six seasons, including in 2011 when they reached the EuroCup title game. With Seville, Balvin authored a 19-rebound game in Prague against CEZ Basketball Nymburk of his native Czech Republic, which stands as the third-best single-game rebounding effort in competition history. He also split the 2016-17 season between FC Bayern Munich in Germany and Estudiantes in Spain. Early in his career, Balvin has played for USK Prague, and been a member of the Czech national team for more than a decade.
