In the Round 12 opener, the red-hot Hapoel Vegan Friendly Tel Aviv (7-4) will try to continue its winning run when it hosts Turk Telekom Ankara (8-3) in a Group B showdown on Tuesday. Hapoel has won four in a row and has scored 95 or more points in each of those games. Turk Telekom has won three of its last four and has the second-best record in the competition. Turk Telekom won the Round 3 game between these teams by 12 points, which will be a margin to certainly keep an eye on.
Round 12 at a glance: Knocking on the playoff door
Umana Reyer Venice (6-5) will try to protect its home court when it welcomes U-BT Cluj-Napoca (4-7). When these two teams met earlier this season, Reyer won 80-85 in Cluj-Napoca and another win against the same opponent on Tuesday would give Reyer a massive boost towards booking a playoff place and battling for home-court advantage. The visitors, however, have restored confidence after coming away with a road win in Ljubljana last week.
Gran Canaria (9-2) will look to remain a team with the best record in the competition when it visits London Lions (5-6) in a Group B clash on Tuesday night. It marks Gran Canaria's first-ever visit to British soil for an official game and a win would secure its playoffs spot with six games to go. London will be eager to get back on the winning track in front of its fans; it has lost its last two home games.
7Bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys (4-7) will look to get back to winning ways when it hosts Group A leader Mincidelice JL Bourg en Bresse (8-3). Lietkabelis is on a four-game losing streak, which includes two home losses, and the team has not scored more than 76 points in any of those games. Bourg, which beat Lietkabelis 86-73 in Round 3 behind an MVP performance from Jordan Floyd, has won two in a row and has scored at least 85 points in each of the last six games.
Prometey Slobozhanske(7-4) will put its four-game winning streak on the line when it visits Frutti Extra Bursaspor (6-5) in a Group A contest on Wednesday. Prometey has not allowed more than 72 points in any of its last three games. Bursaspor, last season's runner-up, is 4-1 at home this season. Prometey beat Bursaspor 90-84 in Round 3 behind 26 points from Gian Clavell and the hosts will aim not only for a victory, but to win by a margin larger than those 6 points.
Promitheas Patras (6-5) will look for its first victory against a familiar opponent when it hosts Buducnost VOLI Podgorica (7-4) on Wednesday. The two teams have played three times since December 2021 and Buducnost has won each of those meetings, including a 95-89 overtime win in Round 3 when Promitheas erased a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit only to fall in the extra session. However, several things have changed since that meeting; Promitheas underwent a coaching change and the top scorers for both team teams - Phil Booth for Buducnost and Joe Young for Promitheas - are no longer with their respective teams.
In a Group B game with serious playoff implications, last-place Slask Wroclaw (1-10) hosts Veolia Towers Hamburg (3-8). Hamburg pulled out an 87-83 win when these teams met in Round 3, but arrives into this contest on a four-game losing streak and has lost seven of its eight games since beating Slask. For the hosts, on the other hand, this is a must-win if they want to keep realistic chances of returning to the playoffs.
Paris Basketball (7-4) will eye a return to the winning path when it welcomes Dolomiti Energia Trento (2-9) to the French capital. Paris is just 2-3 on its home floor in its debut EuroCup season and is looking to bounce back from its first road loss of the season. Trento will be hoping to snap its 20-game road losing streak. The last time Trento won away from home in the EuroCup was in November 2020.
Joventut Badalona (7-4) will go for a sweep of last-place Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana (2-9) when the two clubs clash on Wednesday. Joventut, sitting in second place in Group A, had its highest-scoring game of the season when it beat Cedevita 78-100 and a win in this one would keep it close to the top of the standings. Cedevita is slowly running out of opportunities to catch up with the rest of the group and an upset in Badalona could go long way toward sparking a late-season charge.
Germani Brescia (5-6) is aiming for its third straight home win when it hosts ratiopharm Ulm (6-5) in Group A action on Wednesday night. Brescia has averaged 99.7 points in home wins and 64.5 points in its home losses so far this season. For Ulm, this will be its fifth road game in the last seven rounds and it will be looking to avenge a 90-98 overtime loss against Brescia from Round 3.
