With Turk Telekom Ankara making a late playoff push, Tyrone Wallace matched two of his career highs en route to a crucial 88-73 win over the visiting 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys, which has seen him earn MVP of the Round honors in the process.
Wallace tied his career bests with 31 points and a PIR of 39, the highest of all players in Round 16. This is Wallace's second MVP of the Round honor after he earned his first one in Round 13 and, interestingly, he also had the same numbers on that night: 31 points and a 39 PIR. Against Lietkabelis, Wallace made 8-of-10 two-pointers, 3-of-6 threes and 6-of-7 free throws. He also collected 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and drew 7 fouls as he collected his second MVP of the Round award in the space of four rounds.
This round's next best PIR, 32, belongs to Braian Angola of Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv, as he posted 24 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists in a 105-113 loss against Prometey Slobozhanske. Jaka Blazic of Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana had a PIR of 31 in his team's first win of the season, an 83-114 triumph over Veolia Towers Hamburg. He scored 24 points and also recorded 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 6 drawn fouls. Prometey's Ronald March collected 27 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists for a PIR of 29. Rounding out the list of Round 16 best performers is Joventut Badalona’s Andres Feliz, who accumulated a PIR of 28 with 20 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds in an 89-82 loss against Paris Basketball.
