The tight Group B race got even tighter as Promitheas Patras stopped visiting ratiopharm Ulm 79-68 on Tuesday to sweep their season series.

Promitheas raised its last-place record to 4-9 while sixth-placed Ulm dropped to 6-8 as it travels for a makeup game against Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana on Thursday. Ulm dropped to 6-8 in sixth place. Jerai Grant powered the winners all night with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Dimitris Agravanis followed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Trevis Simpson added 11 points, Mihaljo Andric and Kendrick Ray 10 each. Semaj Christon led Ulm with 17 points while Fedor Zugic added 14, Philipp Herkenhoff and Jeron Blossomgame 13 each. Promitheas held Ulm to 3 free throws made over the first 6 minutes after halftime to lead by 20 points, 58-38, after three quarters. Ulm rallied to get within 5 points twice in the fourth quarter, but Ray helped close the door down the stretch.

Christon got the visitors' scoreboard rolling and kept it going with 5 more points for a 4-7 lead in which he did all of Ulm's scoring. Grant and Agravanis combined to shoot Promitheas in front, 10-9, despite a tip-in from Herkenhoff. Abdul Gaddy and Simpson upped the Promitheas edge to 14-9 but Zugic got much of that back for Ulm on a four-point play. When Simpson answered from the arc and Agravanis scored inside, however, it was 19-13. Zugic downed a layup and Herkenhoff free throws to keep Ulm within 19-17 after 10 minutes.
Thomas Klepeisz ended 2 scoreless minutes of the second quarter by tying it up 19-19 for Ulm, but that seemed only to spark the Promitheas. Suddenly, Agravanis fed Grant for a dunk, Nikolaos Rogkavopoulos downed a triple and a fastbreak layup, and Grant finished another transition to send the hosts up 30-21. Karim Jallow stopped the bleeding for Ulm, but Grant matched him and Gaddy supplied the first double-digit lead, 34-23. Nicolas Bretzel's block sprung Christon for a layup and soon the guard assisted the center on the break to cut the difference to 34-28. Ray scored inside to leave a 36-28 halftime difference.
Grant lobbed to Agravanis for the second half's first basket then Ray fed Grant for a dunk and a new double-digit difference, 40-29. Blossongame calmed Ulm with free throws, but Grant matched him and Andric buried a corner triple as Primitheas soared to its biggest lead yet, 46-31. Grant dunked again and Ulm's first field goal of the second half finally fell with 4:00 left in the third quarter, courtesy of Jallow, but the visitors got no momentum. Grant soon dunked anew and Rogkavopoulos made it a 20-point lead, 56-36, from deep. Andric and Blossomgame traded baskets as Promitheas led 58-38 after three quarters.
Simpson's triple to open the final quarter meant a new high lead, 61-38. Herkenhoff tried for the visitors and Zugic struck from deep to lower the deficit to 63-48. Christon added free throws and Blossongame scored inside for Ulm to suddenly cut it to 63-52. Simpson and Zugic traded triples before the latter fed Herkenhoff to get the difference to single difits, and Christon added a technical free throw at 66-58. Christon kept it going with a second-chance triple at 66-61 but Andric matched him with 2:45 to play. Zugic hit free throws at 69-63, but Ray dropped a layup and a floater in response for a 73-63 difference with 1:40 left, which shut the door on the visitors.
