Three-pointers gave Ulm the edge
ratiopharm Ulm bested Germani Brescia 72-85 on the road in Round 12 and in doing so earned the head-to-head tiebreak advantage between them. Superior three-point shooting made the difference.
Ulm finished the game shooting 16-of-34 on three-pointers (47.1%). Brandon Paul and Robin Christen each buried 4 three-pointers apiece. Christen keeps shooting the ball from downtown; he is 30-of-60 (50.0% 3FG) this season. Karim Jallow, Joshua Hawley and Yago Dos Santos also buried multiple three-pointers. On the other hand, Ulm was limited to just 6-of-21 shooting from downtown (28.6%).
Ulm made 7-of-9 three-pointers in the fourth quarter, allowing Coach Anton Gavel's team to take the road victory and the tiebreaker.
The visitors were more efficient at sharing the ball, and that was the second key to their win. Ulm finished the game with 22 assists and just 11 turnovers. On the other hand, Brescia had more turnovers (16) than assists (14). Ulm's main ballhandlers, Dos Santos and Juan Nunez, combined for 14 assists and just 4 turnovers.
