


Turk Telekom Ankara has booked its place in the 7DAYS EuroCup Final! Turk Telekom advanced to the championship game after downing Prometey Slobozhanske 74-76 at Arena Riga in the Latvian capital on Wednesday evening. In the final, Turk Telekom will take on the winner of the other semifinal between Gran Canaria and Joventut Badalona, which takes place later today; the winner of that game will have home-court advantage in the championship game. Prometey finished the season with a 16-5 record and saw its 13-game winning streak come to an end.
Jerian Grant paced the winners with 19 points and 6 assists. Axel Bouteille added 16 points and 8 rebounds, Tony Taylor scored 15 points and Tyrique Jones posted 11 points and 14 rebounds for Turk Telekom. Gian Clavell led Prometey with 19 points, Ondrej Balvin added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists while D.J. Stephens scored 10 points and pulled down 8 rebounds for the hosts.
Balvin got Prometey going with a three-pointer and a layup. Clavell struck twice from downtown and Caleb Agada scored off a steal for a 13-5 Prometey lead. Erkan Yilmaz aced a triple, but so did Issuf Sanon and a red-hot Clavell to make it a double-digit game, 21-10. Grant took over with a driving layup and he fed Jones for a huge dunk. Taylor stepped up as Turk Telekom closed within 25-16 after 10 minutes.
Grant dunked and then Yilmaz and Bouteille each struck from beyond the arc in a 1-10 run that brought the visitors within 27-26. Taylor buried a three-pointer that completed Turk Telekom's comeback, 30-31. Bouteille and Jones stepped up to boost the visitors' lead to 38-41 at halftime.
Stephens took over with a three-point play soon after that. Jones kept pushing Turk Telekom, getting help from Taylor and Nate Sestine for a 41-48 lead. Illia Sydorov, Oleksandr Lypovyy and Clavell each struck from downtown but Grant singlehandedly kept his team ahead, 50-56. Prometey found answers from the foul line, as Balvin and Agada brought their team within 56-61 after 30 minutes.
Bouteille and Grant each buried a shot, which prompted Prometey to call timeout at 58-65. Lypovyy fired in a three-pointer and Sydorov scored off a steal to make it 63-65. Grant and Taylor rescued Turk Telekom with a jumper apiece before Agada and Bouteille exchanged three-pointers. Balvin's dunk got Prometey within 68-73 with over 2 minutes left. Clavell ignited the crowd with a layup-plus-foul and Stephens added a triple that completed Prometey's comeback, 74-73. Taylor nailed a mid-range jumper with 31.4 seconds left. Agada missed and Jones went to the line with 11.6 seconds remaining. He split attempts to leave the door open for Prometey, but Stephens missed twice from downtown before the final buzzer
