The native of Finland returns to the EuroCup after five seasons
Veteran guard Sasu Salin signs with Cluj
U-BT Cluj-Napoca announced the signing of veteran guard Sasu Salin over the weekend. Salin (1.91 meters, 33 years old) has spent the last nine seasons in Spain, including the last five with Lenovo Tenerife. His career averages in the Spanish League are 8.1 points on 37.3% three-point shooting.
Salin has played 82 EuroCup games and 58 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games in his career. He suited up for Olimpija Ljubljana, Gran Canaria and Unicaja Malaga in the EuroCup and averaged 9.7 points on 38.9% three-point shooting. He reached the semifinals in 2016 with Gran Canaria and the quarters in 2017 with Gran Canaria and in 2019 with Unicaja.
Salin began his career with Espoon Honka in his native before first heading abroad with Olimpija in 2020. He has played for many years on the Finnish national team and served as its captain. Salin’s trophy case includes three Slovenian Cups with Olimpija and the 2020 he FIBA Intercontinental Cup and the 2022 Basketball Champions League championship won with Tenerife.
